Yeh were coping well without him lads. How foolish of us to think losing our most creative player would be disaster. We have played so well the last 2 1/2 games without him!

Rapidly being proved wrong mate.

Again I think people are being way too quick to judge the team . Its bound to knock us out of our stride losing a player so fundamental to our creative ability . It may take a game or two in order to fashion another route for victory but last night whilst freezing my bollocks off I saw flashes of it coming .

Not sure about Jo at all now . I am not judging him but I sense that he is not what we need at this crucial time of the season . Every player should have the movement of a man standing on hot coals . Jo looks like a man who has just gone for a run after being diagnosed with rickets .

All anyone was talking about last night was Boro . Our support last night considering we had a good 3,000 was ****e

Mikel Arteta has revealed how the special atmosphere at Everton has made him determined to return from injury a better player than ever.
The Spaniard has been out of action for almost 10 months with cruciate ligament damage, and recently suffered a set back that will sideline him well into the New Year.
But Arteta has refused to become disillusioned, and he believes the help and support of his club will allow him to come back better and stronger, as he enters a new phase in his career.
"When you are away and you look at things - not just as a professional, as a footballer, but as a person - you see how good the people are around you," he explained.

"It is not easy to find that in football. I have been in other football clubs and I'm telling you this is a special one. People say we are a family - we really are. We really are different and we really do things differently from other clubs.
"We have such good people here, and as a person I am telling you that's very good. And I think because of that there is a lot more to come from me."

Mikel Arteta: I'm going to come back even better for 'special' Everton - MirrorFootball.co.uk

I particularly like this bit.

Injury ordeal fuels Mikel Arteta with desire to end career at Everton | Football | guardian.co.uk

The former Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain, Rangers and Real Sociedad player added: "You never know how long you are going to spend with a club, but what I can say is that I can see myself finishing my career at Everton. That wouldn't surprise me at all."The papers say, 'Mikel wants to go back to Spain soon'. That is not true, I never said that. They say would you like to come one day, probably I would like that but maybe I am going to stay for another seven years. I would like to win a trophy with the club. We have got the potential to do it."

My heart might explode if he keeps on.

Thought he was leaving for Spain? Oh right, it was a journalist who said that. Lucky we don't take hyperbole too seriously on here.

That bit had better just be badly worded.

Can you imagine when he comes back. It will be like all our christmases rolled into one. I just can't wait for him to get the royal blue back on. For me just because of his pure quality, he will go down in years to come as an Everton great.

I've said before, i grew up in the 90s, so for me, he is the greatest player i have ever seen in a blue shirt. Love him, he is just pure special

Call me a cynic but I believe this from Arteta is a final swansong, he's had 3 operations on the knee and I dont think he will come back.

If Im wrong I'll meet you all near the ground and drink a pint of...diet coke or something.

I think its a heartfelt plea to the fans, I think he certainly will finish his career at Everton, yes.
