Away games at Chelsea City and Liverpool will show whether he’s good enough or if he’s just been bossing dross at Goodison. The scenes of Vardy getting in behind him 2 or 3 times from long balls are still fresh in my mind.

Agree with that big test in the next few weeks for him, but give him credit he looks a much better player than last season

Nah because at the time most said them things (myself included for the first part) before we knew that his foot was falling off and he was properly awful. But it is ok to be proven wrong by big Mick, long may it continue.

Kind of my point that.

Going off the deep end like that ..... when there’s a real possibility you don’t know the full facts ..... it’s mental.

In that case we shouldn't have an opinion on anything as we "don't know the full facts".

On the face of it he was absolutely rubbish and at the time I think it is fair enough to state that. Irrelevant of the facts his form has dramatically improved and it is great to see him playing like the player I thought he was when he first joined us.

Forming an opinion is fine.

Coward though? Nah, that’s not on.

He's a big useless uncoordinated gammon head
Seriously watch him he has so many flaws it really difficult to see how anyone can even justify him in the squad. Worst centre half at the club by a mile
Funny how the lad Burnley replaced him with almsot went to the World Cup and he didn't.

Some players fit certain teams. Keane fits Burnley. Not us.
Well unsurprisingly I got this transfer right as well. I have similar doubts about players like lascelles and Gibson who some seem to want us to get. It's totally different doing well at Burnley and Newcastle than to step it up and do it here. We would have had the same problem with maguire if we went for him instead.

Thank the lord we have a dof who is looking outside the prem.
Who in their right mind would offer more than £10m for this joker?
He has the keanetic movement of a barge. 80 grand a week for a defender who can’t head the ball, can’t defend one on one and can’t get back when someone plays a throughball down the channel. Also has one of those faces that you wouldn’t tire of punching. I would give away on a free just to shift the wages off the books for the next four years.
Should have been first out the door this summer for me, certainly before Mori. Could probably get £12 million for him from someone. We ain’t going anywhere with this guy on the pitch.
You know for example if a player was to “fall” down a stair well or the likes, are the club insured for such tragic events. It would be such a shame to lose Michael under such circumstances.
Wasn't there some talk of Snail Keane returning to Burnley? I'm quite prepared to charter a plane from Auckland to Liverpool, hire a car at John Lennon... and drive him there myself.
Just go away you useless skidmark
I hate Michael Keane. I HATE HIM.
Dire.

It makes me yearn for the days of Alcaraz.
I’m sorry, but there’s no “giving him a chance” or supporting him anymore, it’s past that. He’s not even close to not being nearly good enough and it should be shown to the management and the rest of the club. Woeful excuse of a footballer.
Absolute manure
Makes Alcaraz look like Maldini. Abysmal footballer.
Please get rid ASAP
Cancel this lads contract absolute embarrassment
Needs to be binned asap, not shown anything to suggest he can be part of a defence to build around and just continues to show anytime a ball goes behind him it's automatically a goal scoring chance.

Be lucky to get 10 million back but honestly couldn't care just get him off the books use the wages elsewhere and pretend it never happened.
He gets worse every time he plays. That was a shocking lack of effort and reading of the game. He is absolutely 100% the worst centre back I've ever seen play for Everton. I'd take Carl Tiler and Kroldrup as a pair compared to Keane and Jags.
He's really awful. Every cross he is out of position. He is just nowhere near anyone on two of the goals but also on a couple of others that didn't end up in. Plus he's just as slow as Jags and Williams. Useless
Unfortunately, he's absolutely gash isn't he. Get Marcel on the blower and sound clubs out.
It really is time to drive him out, should be playing for someone like Bolton not stealing 50k+ p/w from us
Keane needs to go. End of story.
Lash yourself in the nearest bin Michael
He has got nothing to his game for me.

No pace, not strong, average in the air when he bothers to go for the ball, poor positioning, shocking concentration levels and a bit of a coward. If I am being fair to him he is somewhat OK on the ball at times I guess.

I see nothing in him at all.
Get the hell away from this club, you absolute clown.
The comparisons with Alcaraz are fair and that's horrific.
Still maintain he's our worst ever signing, we'd be very lucky to get a 3rd of our money back on him. And he only had ONE year yr left on his Burnley contract! Amazing
He really is that bad isn't he.

At least Per Koldrup had the decency to hold his hands up after one game,
Every time he’s on the pitch, it looks like the first game he’s ever played, he hasn’t got a clue how to do anything, tackle, mark, positional sense, interceptions, passing, everything is atrocious. Think he found his level in Austria.
Up there with the very worst we have signed in a long time and we all know that is a pretty good achievement given our record in the market.
Trying to think of a worse CB that played at least ten games for us? Alcaraz at a push? Carl Tiler was better.
Cart horse
Duffy = crap, still miles better than this wet lettuce
The worst of the starting 40 center backs in the league, cannot be allowed to play for us again
As god be my witness I will not rest or sleep until this boys head is on a pike next to Ned Starks.
Just get lost you absolute skid mark
Good god, it’s going to be a painful season with this flat cap wearing ted in our back four
:coffee:

In my defense he was awful in that game vs Rennes and was also pretty bad last season although that foot injury stuff sounds horrible and the club did him no favors there. Had I known that I'd probably have been less harsh. Pleasantly surprised at his improvement and it is clear that he can do his job if the team functions as intended. I still don't trust him 1v1 vs a quick attacker.

The problem with Keane is that he doesnt have the recovery pace and so he needs to be like John Terry with his positioning.

Silva it was said literally would stop training at Hull and Watford and physically move players into the correct positions during plays and i think he must have been doing this with Keane.

Weve signed Mina who looks like being our first choice from the way Brands and Silva have been after him from before the world cup. I cant see how we can play both together due to a lack of pace, if a quick forward gets behind them then they wont catch him.

Its going to be interesting to see Keane and Mina together against Chelsea.

I think they will be competing for 1 CB position with Zouma/Holgate vying for the other.

Since I've been indicted in this ruthless vaulting I will say he's shown an impressive ability to pass the ball now that the manager has us playing actual football again. He didn't show that last year but I guess when told to lash it forward at every opportunity it is hard to.

Holgate will play more games with the u23s than the first team the rest of the season. Only injuries to any two of Keane/Mina/Zouma will see him back in.

Keane has decent straight line speed but trying to move and cut quickly is where he struggles. But Zouma is definitely the pace in that partnership. I don't know how we can make assumptions about Mina when he hasn't played yet but I suspect for the time being Marco will go with Keane and Zouma when available.

From the way Brands spoke about him, Moshiri, Silva and Kenwright watching Colombias games and being gutted when Mina scored it showed he was a top target before the world cup.

Based on that and the fee i think its safe to assume that they imagined he would be the stalwart of the central defence.

Like i said, its going to be interesting to see how they do vs Chelsea. Mina being the top rated defender in Brazil before joining Barca im sure hes faced a fair number of rapid tricky forwards in his time.

Keane and Mina just need to be spot on with their positioning.
