A bit soon to be vaulting in my opinion. He still looks like an accident waiting to happen to me if i'm honest, but fair play to him he's managed to stop it from happening so far. He's certainly looked better this season than last, but some of those same problems are still visible. Thankfully the unit as a whole looks much better so it's not too much of an issue, but when someone like Glenn Murray can peel away and run onto a long ball yards ahead of him like happened on Saturday, I'm still a little bit concerned.

Weve beaten nobody of note and kept very few clean sheets - now Keanes a colossus all of a sudden ???
He's improved from last years dross (which was impossible not to injury or not!) let's see how he copes in the next couple of weeks

Really?

I think he looks incredibly assured at the moment. His passing is good. His defensive heading is good. He's not diving in and losing a yard.

I can't really remember Murray peeling off Keane at all on Saturday? He was pretty much in his pocket. Zouma has been impressive but I'm more worried about his rashness than Keane's atm (not that I'm overly concerned by either of them).

Keane's playing very very well at the moment. As is Zouma. They're forming what looks to be a good partnership. Hopefully it continues.

Agree entirely that as a team we're defending better, which obviously helps.

If I'm not mistaken it was when Murray played it off Keane for a corner, which they then scored from.

Could be wrong like.

His passing has been good yes. His defensive heading was fine last season, as was his blocking etc. He didn't lose the ability to defend completely, he was always capable of doing the same things that had made us sign him, but unfortunately he wasn't able to really do any more than that.

I think Keane has a real problem reading danger in behind. He doesn't seem to see what's unfolding unless he's deep and it's all happening in front of him. In the first half on Saturday Brighton lofted a ball forward, Keane and Murray were on the half way line, Murray peeled away and set off, while Keane stood still as if he might be able to head it away before belatedly realising he was nowhere near it and setting off after him. Murray got there about 3 or 4 yards ahead of him but luckily had little support and Gana and Keane crowded him out. Because it came to nothing, you don't remember it, and everyone says he's doing really well. But I can assure you these things are still happening, and if a couple of them get punished everyone will start saying he's gone backwards again, despite his performances being exactly the same.
