Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this cold -15° today in Finland . I hope all are well and had a good night ,I haven't watched the match from yesterday but I did just watch this and if you have the time it is amazing to see ,I am in awe of these designers and what a place it will be ,we should be truly proud and this will live on long after the memory of the last few years of Moshiri's reign COYB :-

Morning all another cold and frosty one, -4.2 last night, nowhere near as cold as it is for you @blue1948 thank goodness.
Off to see the school nativity play today. Jessica has been picked to be Mary, her Mum was also Mary in her school nativity. I can hardly believe that was 34 years ago but then I look in the mirror and it could be longer! lol Have a good day, all.?

Hello all. We had -5C last night. Freezing. Bright and sunny today but still hovering around 0°C. Today has been wrapping Christmas presents. It is indeed true that nothing says Christmas like telling a roll of sellotape to F off! My completed parcels look like portions of fish and chips. I also managed to wrapping the scissors in with one of the gifts! Not my finest hour.

Have a lovely time at the Nativity @Gwladysover

Really enjoyed the Nativity, thanks. There were the usual hitches which just add to the occasion, The road to Bethlehem represented by two circuits of the hall was achieved in double quick time by Mary who arrived well before Joseph and one of the kings got stage fright which meant that baby Jesus received only two gifts. The children did really well though considering it’s the first time they had performed in front of a hall full of people.

Oh that's so sweet. I loved the Nativity when mine were little. Chris was the innkeeper one year and fluffed his only line. Charlotte was usually an angel - I think it was the bright ginger hair that sealed her role!

Minus 3.5 this morning which is an improvement from the minus 7.5 earlier in the week. Everything looks beautiful with the heavy frost though and it is very seasonal.

I tried to make time for the meteor shower last night but no luck. Hopefully tonight I will get to see something anyway with the big coat, hat and gloves on.
It’s currently -5°C in my garden although to be fair it feels colder due to the wind chill. Apparently, it’ll be warmer by Saturday or Sunday…

…which will bring the change of snow. After that, it could surge to the teens due to a big movement of warm air from the Sahara, meaning a potentially mild Christmas. Crazy weather.

If Christmas Day looking like this it would be wonderful but not to be. A mild Christmas is just wrong.

Morning all on this bright and sunny morning. Delivering cards to neighbours this morning which is slightly sad as the number grows smaller every year and am now down to five. On a brighter note one of my favourite programmes “Detectorists” is returning for a Christmas special this year. I’ve watched this on iPlayer so many times I practically know it word for word. lol and it surely has one of the best theme tunes ever. Have a good day, all.?

I wanted to see the ISS but it was cloudy here ,I will look again but it isn't over here again yet ,we had -14° going shopping this morning ,when you are wrapped up it is fantastic .I don't think I could live with the sun on my back 300 days per year .

I would much rather have your climate than live somewhere really hot. I don’t work well with too much sun.

Thanks
it is not the same cold here because the lakes and some of the sea are frozen over and the cold is dry not damp as in Ireland or the UK . Hard to tell how it feels but if you have ever skied abroad you will know . I had in laws living in Spain and after two weeks it got too much for me ,the same on our tropical holidays we couldn't wait to get back to rye bread and cooler weather.
