Agree Blue. I think they've done OK so far, certainly not as bad as some previous England teams have fared. But I don't get all the plaudits following the 2 wins. There have been some passages of excellent play, but there's also been a lot of sloppiness in the performances. Rashford scored 2 good goals last night but apart from that he was very poor and sloppy in possession. The only really stand out player for us has been Bellingham. I think our main strength lies in our depth of attacking players so a good manager would rotate and make appropriate substitutions, something Southgate doesn't always do.
Having said that there aren't any real stand out teams, maybe a France/Brazil final if they avoid each other. I'm not sure how the draw pans out tbh. I think quality wise it's been a poor world cup so far and i don;t see that changing. Mbappe apart, i don't see any real outstanding players around at the moment.
