Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hey all.. woke up to our house being burgled last night. Took the new TV I bought on Friday.. plus ps5, sound bar and some more..
there is a spate of burglaries around our area of Gaborone at the moment.. 2 friends have been hit and we know of a couple others…
Eish….
Oh how awful for you. Must have been a big shock.

Hello my lovelies. Got back from Liverpool about an hour ago. I have had such a fun time. Catching up with the cousins was brilliant. So much laughter and shared memories. It was as if we had last seen each other about a week ago rather than the years it has been since some of us last saw each other.
I'm currently watching S Korea v Ghana which is a pretty good game. I like international football because I have no vested interest in any of the teams so can just watch the game.

By the way the cousins score, blue to red was 9-2?

Morning from Canada, well they did well in the two games, played well against Belgium, but Croatia had their number but first time in 36 years they had reached the WC finals so onwards and upwards , 9am and the beers where flying, the pubs even opened at 6am for some of the games

Spent the day (between work month end stuff) .. dealing with insurance people running around trying to get replacement values , people to come fix the electric fencing, another chap to look at putting up CCTV…
Big win so they threw the credit cards on the ground so don’t have to replace them.. do have to get a new ID document book…

Had to happen when my mom was down from the UK on holiday.. but she’s off now back home to Oxford.. so at least one less thing to worry about

That’s terrible mate.

If there was a sliding scale of Scumbag, burglars would be right up near the top for me.

Agreed. These things always tend to happen in sprees and it’s traumatic for the community.
Typically, it's an area they will want to feel comfortable in: likely, they'll have scouted the area to identify targets; comfortable with the roads to help disappear.

After saturating an area, which will bring about attention, they'll move to another location.

Morning all and a cloudy and dismal one it is too.
Watched 24 hours in police custody on Ch 4 last night, a programme that made me both angry and sad at the same time, sometimes I despair. On catch-up if any is interested.
Anyway haircut for me today just as the weather turns colder lol .
Have a good one everybody. ? Don’t forget those chores @blue1948 hope Mrs B. properly on the mend.

Those policing reality TV shows can be a hard watch. Sad how some people’s lives can just fall apart and they end up on the wrong side of the law.

I remember we were robbed when I was still at Uni living with the folks.. happened twice in a few months.. got so flipping angry I ran down the road with a spade looking to clonk someone on the head. Turned out quite sad..

They caught the blokes and it turned out to be some young boys who we used to give food to a couples times a week. Had been giving from when they were pre teens for probably 7 or 8 years they would come round. Made sense why they ransacked my clothes and didn’t touch my folks.

Remember this is in the context of South Africa.. with poverty etc.
but crime in this part of the world means that if they come quietly, take stuff and go - that is a good outcome.
