Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this fine day .I hope all are well and had a great night .Nothing much to report other than keeping a low profile until the Derby .Have a magnificent day all COYB
That’s the sensible approach! It doesn’t feel right having confidence before playing that lot.

A damp day here and rather dreary it must be said. If I want to get any walking done I may hunt out the waterproof coat and be brave.

Morning all. Hannah just popped in on her way to school as usual, on leaving asked us not to kiss her, “I suppose you’re a bit old for that now” “No, it’s just I have foundation on and I don’t want it ruined!”. 🙄
Have a good day, all💙
Without judging it saddens me to see kids grow up so fast ,I still wore short pants at 13 years old , threw coal at each other with my "friends " .It hurt if they hit you but far better than chasing girls !

It’s no wonder kids grow up fast nowadays whenever you see what they learn at school. The GCSE Religion syllabus this year covers topics like ‘Modern warfare’; Euthanasia; Capital Punishment; Human Sexuality including same sex couples. Kids are given the moral fors and againsts alongside the relevant bible references to support their arguments. Actually very interesting reading through it but it will take a very mature 16 year old to do well in it.

My Aunt often told the story of throwing balls of coal at a nemesis before before told to go get it again by my granny when she discovered the empty bunker 😀

Hannah was taught the Holocaust in the last year of primary school, which to my mind is too young. I’m told next year the history syllabus includes Jack the Ripper.

That is very young to be taught that and no way they could comprehend the event. Then again, hate seems to be everywhere now and maybe kids do need to learn the basics at least to help them identify the fake news.

I have always wanted an antique spinning wheel, not to use it but just look at and admire. My friend had always promised me that one day she would buy me one, which she did a few years ago and it turned out to be not quite what she thought she’d bought. It was in fact a miniature. If anyone has seen the advert where a woman buys a bargain three piece suite which turns out to be dolls house furniture they’ll get the gist. Anyway when I went round this morning there stood a full size version, an absolutely wonderful surprise, not even my birthday.
