Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Well the best laid plans of mice and men strikes again. So tbf, I was very tired while waiting for my son to come home before I went shopping for the thank you bottle of champagne. Then my lad comes waltzing in with Easter eggs for my daughter and grandchildren plus a bottle of Moët Champagne. So I never did get to go shopping, and tbh I was a bit relieved and welcomed his actions for me… 😆……….
 
Years ago I bought a business and building that was an art gallery and picture framers for my wife and son and had the ownership put in their names so that it was theirs. They ran it together for 20+ years until my wife’s Alzheimer’s took over. Anyway, my son has been approached by another businessman looking for premises for which ours fits the bill and we’ve reached agreement on price. I hold a Lasting Power of Attorney on behalf of my wife as she is incapable in the extreme. I think I’m allowed due to the LPOA, together with my son, to sell the property without going to court for additional permission. I’ll have to have a word with our solicitor I suppose. Yet something else running around my head in the wee small hours. It’s hard enough just looking after Kay all day without having to deal with additional legal issues. I really wouldn’t wish this upon my worst enemy. Anyway I’ll try to get some sleep and figure it all out……

Good morning all on this cloudy one here .I hope all had a wonderful restful slumber ,wake to a beautiful and have won the lottery . I am persuing my "Tidy the forest/road a bit " campaign with gusto ,well twenty minutes a day . We ambushed a couple yesterday on our walk ,he was a German soldier and great lad ,he said that a lot of the soldiers are a bit disgruntled at the way their politics are , although he vowed to die for his country he is having doubts due to this direction they are taking .I am almost ignorant to German politics so I will leave it for others to decipher . He did grill a mean sausage though !

No mate. Had a bad night with suspected food poisoning but woke up an hour ago feeling much better but still not good. Will catch it later either on Sky catch up or YouTube. Thinking of going to see them at Finsbury Park in July. Line-up right up my alley with TLDP Florence Road Keo and Rachel Chin supporting. Cost of accommodation crazy though so trying to justify it.

I have Financial PoA for my sister who also has Alzheimer’s, I sold her flat in Manchester on her behalf about three years ago, there were no problems at all. I have copies of the written PoA signed , on each page !, by my own solicitor with specific words needed and a copy was sent to relevant parties eg estate agent/ solicitors carrying out the sale. It’s fairly straightforward and I did it from 400 miles away. DM me if you wish to mate.

Was it takeout that did you? I can’t see a man of your culinary talents poisoning himself.

That does sound like the perfect line up for you. I have one way to justify it for you- you are only young once so go for it.

Thanks. The LPOA I have for my wife includes both financial and health, with everything properly registered……

As long as the LPOA wasn’t time bound at the outset, or established for a sole specific purpose, then you will not need additional permissions.
