Morning all. I think I’ve discovered what’s been keeping me awake. Apparently a poor chap was trying to escape from war torn and ravaged Singapore but while economy seats were available he had to wait a few days to get one in business class as his influencer photos wouldn’t have been as good and that could have killed him. Anyway I hope you can all join me in praying that the meals on the plane are of a good standard as this poor man has been through enough pain and suffering while having to spend a few extra nights in a smart hotel while watching the events in the Middle East. My heart goes out to him for the suffering he has had to endure…..I shall stay awake for a few more hours saying prayers for him……the bulldog British spirit will see him through this….

Morning all, yet another cloudy one. Went to the theatre yesterday as grandkid no 3 was appearing in her dance school’s annual show, it’s grandkid no 4’s turn today. Pity they couldn’t have both been in the same show, it is the same dance school after all. What with double tickets, flowers and chocolates to give them when you greet them after the show it’s an expensive business.

Hi folks. Just settling back in to life in England- I am freezing! Was not expecting frost for the last two mornings. Frankie is here today, I can't believe how much he has developed in 5 weeks. ( quote from daughter- well you have missed a tenth of his life) He's crawling now and in to everything. @Gwladysover , the little elephant you so kindly sent him, has become his favourite sleeping buddy. He hugs her and says Aaah, when he's going to sleep. It's so cute
We've got a few tough matches coming up. It will be interesting to see how the next 5 games work out.

Having recently experienced this,I can tell you that those Business Class flights were £10k each. (I tried to book us an earlier flight than the one we got and they only had Business Class available. My Instagram can do without it)

My son went to Japan ,when he was perusing the ticket availability overnight he noticed the price for run off the mill tickets rose by 10,000 pounds ,he said long haul at short notice and few remaining seats are always the same as they have made the money by then .Milking the cow so to say .So glad you are home and safe

Morning all, cloudy and misty yet again. Breathed a sigh of relief yesterday when Sunderland were knocked out of the Cup as I booked tickets last year for our game against them which is the day after the Cup Final. Just need to hope it’s not moved for the TV now…

I did that before for a game, completely forgetting the FA Cup would change things. Let’s just say I was likely the only person half OK with Wigan knocking us out 3-0 in 2013….

6.32pm and we are only losing our daylight now. It’s always so heartening to say the turn of the seasons. Although this when you then realise that the gardening duties will soon be recommencing and a new tube of Deep Heat needs left in.

Yes @Armaghtoffee it is coming around it will wake @jazzy from his winter hibernation soon . We are seeing signs here ,which is very early that spring is around the corner ,no frost in sight and the birds getting frisky .

I may have spoken too soon as I see a 70% chance of snow on Friday. Yesterday was one of those days where some had t-shirts on whereas others had coats and woolly hats. I was in the former category.

I see President Chump has called anyone complaining about the price of oil a ‘dummy’. It’s all worth it apparently to facilitate his Imperial conquests.

In a personal context, most Irish homes are heated via oil. Directly before Trump’s bombing, the price of 500 litres was around £370. In the middle of last week, this had risen to around £480. As of last night, according to RTE, some outlets were now quoting £760. I’m OK and am grateful for that but for more financially vulnerable people, I really do worry for them.
