Nice anecdote but I cannot stand that man.I worked in the Department of Health opposite in the early noughties.
One Christmas, there was the usual meal for retired members of staff followed by a free bar in the canteen.
I was nursing a pretty grim pint of Guinness when the then Minister Micheál Martin appeared beside me. ' Do you want another?' he asked. I said 'actually Minister I think I'll go over to Mulligan's for a pint of Beamish'.
'Good idea. Mind if I join you?' replied our current Taoiseach.
A very pleasant evening followeddrinking several pints of Beamish.
Correct, Milford Everton was the original name. Milford is a townland just outside the City of Armagh itself and it is where the penalty kick was invented.I read that Armargh city was originally Milford Everton ,did I miss the post AT ?
I'm fairly apolitical having served under Ministers who were FF, FG, Labour, DL, PD. My job was to implement Government policy, while advising on practicalities, in whichever Department I happened to be serving.Nice anecdote but I cannot stand that man.
Does that count as another Everton first ? Ok maybe not .Correct, Milford Everton was the original name. Milford is a townland just outside the City of Armagh itself and it is where the penalty kick was invented.
One of the original board of Everton was from Armagh.

To the few geniuses who criticized the priest for interrupting the Eucharist, they should take a look at themselves, and ask what Jesus would have done.
A proper Christian doing exactly what Jesus would have done. So lovelyIncredibly moving!
