Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all,

Yes it is raining again, shock horror. Not done much. Don't have an appointment this week as my therapist is on her jollybobs, how very dare she lol

I don't really have any homework as such, I have been tasked with watching some stand up comedy as I mentioned I used to enjoy going to comedy clubs and watching stand up performances on tv and I feel like I don't laugh anymore, not done it yet but I will.

Last night at bedtime, I was in the kitchen getting a drink and I heard Daisy barking, Daisy very very rarely barks (which is a shame as she has a funny bark) She is a very quiet dog. I got too the bedroom and she was stood at the base of the bed barking at the little green led on my new carbon monoxide alarm which is above the bed lol lol She didn't know what to make of it, it gave me a giggle, who needs stand up lol

Have a good day all.
Does she do a little howly bark? We had a beagle in rescue that sounded like he was singing at times, it was so cute 💙

Morning everyone,

Oh Anj I hope everything turns out ok , the wait is always awful.

Strange day yesterday. Had to take the car to Preston for its first MOT. Agreed to wait and have a coffee and read of the newspaper. 2 hours later no car but I was pretty chilled so I asked the ever so nice young lady on reception what's happening, " oh sorry we are just washing it ".

30 minutes later " Here's your car keys and MOT , and we've put a full tank of petrol in to say sorry for the delay ".........what, That must have cost twice the cost of the MOT!

Brilliant service by Lexus , I can recommend them if anyone is interested.

Anyway had to dash home because then had to take mum to hospital for a CT scan as part of an investigation into possible bowel cancer . Mum was / is fantastically brave and stoical. The biggest problem for her was having to drink 2 liters of water yesterday and another 2 today.

Off to a meeting in Liverpool today and then a lunch in Mowgli one of my faves.

Have a lovely day everyone.
Excellent customer service that. Hope your mum gets positive news from her scan. Always such a worry. I was in Liverpool yesterday- it was freezing and optimistically I didn’t put my big coat on 🥶 .

Happy Easter, Joyeux Pacques and whatever that is in Finnish.

Today has started brightly, not unlike ATs wonderful photo but it's forecast to go downhill weather wise from lunchtime.

Ah well me and Mrs J will take ourselves off to the local hostelry to get out of the rain and enjoy a yard of ale ( well maybe a pint of Guinness and a half of lager lol) before sharing a pizza with Barbie.

I desperately hope that Anj gets some good news about her son.

Well that's about it from me , no other news except I'm just about to finish a brilliant historical novel by Robert Harris called Act of Oblivion. It's based on the true story of the manhunt in New England of 2 of the Puritans involved in the death of Charles I. Although I like history I've never really been into historical drama but the pace and depth of knowledge and historical facts with which this is written make it a great read.

Anyway have a lovely Easter weekend everyone.
I think it’s a fascinating time in history- try Killers of the King by Charles Spencer (as in brother of Diana). That too is about the events leading up to the death of Charles I, there’s obviously royalist bias as you would expect from the author but it’s factual and interesting.
Enjoy your 🍻

Good morning all. It looks like a very bright day today. We're setting off for Nottingham at dinner time. I need to see daughter before we go - she's a residential child care worker and has been at work for the last two days. She's back in again on Sunday so if we don't see her this morning it will be Monday before our paths cross. I need to ask her important stuff like what type of Easter egg ( yes I still buy them one - even at 26 and 30🤣) and does she want a roast dinner on Monday!
Son rang last night - he's booked an escape room tomorrow afternoon for us to do and also booked us into a teppenyaki restaurant. I have never experienced either and had to Google teppenyaki. I'm fully on best behaviour for meeting the inlaws, no leftie comments or political opinions. 🤣 We could talk footie but Newcastle play West Ham ( their team) on Saturday so that might be one to avoid as well.
Good Ftoday so the ingrained Catholic in me will not be eating meat. I still have an irrational fear of being struck by lightning should I transgress that rule.
Have a lovely day x
Have a great time, I’ve delivered two Easter eggs to 2 30 year olds yesterday too, but inspite of dropping hints I don’t think there’s one coming my way 😞😂

It's like she's saying row row rather than a woof if that makes sense, it is very cute though as well

I gave her a finger of peanut butter last night, she always comes in the kitchen if she hears the tub opening lol and it must have been a bit sticky in her mouth some of the shapes she was pulling with her face had me laughing. I tried to get a picture but everytime I got the camera she just stared at me from the corner of the room lol she is a character.

She's in the bad books though, just been a little sht on our walk so I cut it short, bloody rolling in god knows what and eating bloody bird crap, which drives me mental, there's a lot of bird crap about. I was taking her up the farm. Mind you I made a good choice as my legs went on the way home and it would have been another 90mins-ish.

Have a nice bank holiday everyone.

I don't even get a happy birthday so an easter egg is no chance lol Should have bought my own but they're a bit of a rip off aren't they.

I didn't get any shopping last month as I really wanted to defrost my freezer, this month has really dragged though, I won't be doing it again.

It’s a nice bright Good Friday here so let’s hope it stays that way. I’m being ultra good at the moment as making good progress with my back and don’t want a set back. It has to be better for my island hop in 8 weeks or so, and also don’t want to miss next weekend’s game against Burnley. Not driven yet, but enjoying being ferried around by Mr P. Enjoy your day all 🐣 💙

Wait 'til Tuesday mate. They'll be practically giving 'em away. lol

Morning all,

Proper grim this morning, I sound like a broken record but I am fed up to the back teeth of rain.

I have a question. If I was to get a Thai takeaway, won't be for a while though, has anyone a recommendation that isn't red or green curry? Not too spicy either my spice tolerance seems to have nosedived for some reason. I want to try different cuisines but I have no clue what to order for most of them.

Have a good day.
Try the Massaman curry T. An absolute taste sensation and quite mild too.

And just a tip with any Thai food if you don't like it too spicy. Avoid the red bits with white seeds ;)

Hi everybody. I hope you are all having a good Wednesday and thank you for your kind words and good wishes for our son. The actual procedure on Monday went well. All we need now are the results. I'm finding the whole thing very difficult - my face has erupted into spots which is a sure sign I'm stressed. It's meet the inlaws this weekend so we are off to Nottingham to meet his girlfriend's parents.
I cant see the point of Branthwaite being picked for two friendlies if he wasn't going to get to play. Isn't that the whole point of a friendly?
Well done on the table tennis @jazzy.
Enjoy the rest of your day. I'm about to watch Pointless and House of Games. That's about as exciting as it gets these days!
Fingers crossed for the right outcome Anj and hope you don't have too long a wait. 💙

I decided to go back on twitter, mainly for news and the first person to follow me was a bloody porn star(if you can call them that ) lol
Well it's now called X for a reason T lol

I have no followers on twitter but this lovely young lady called Heidi does follow me on TikTok, and keeps asking me whether I want to follow her back. She never says follow her back where though.
