Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

No hosepipe ban there Phil.?

Ours will probably stillbe in place until the end of the year at least. Reservoirs less than 40% capacity.
No, the NW has been spared one. I was actually at Lake Yrnwy a few weeks ago, which is the reservoir that supplies Merseyside and beyond.

It was lower than normal, but they said it still had an ample amount of water to last throughout the autumn.

I have one overhanging my back garden so am looking forward (not) to the big clear up. Or at least I'm told its a cherry tree. I've never seen any cherries on it?
Not all cherry trees bear fruit Fred. In many cases the flowering varieties are specifically designed only to produce flowers. They may very occasionally produce very small, bitter fruit which the birds will eat.
There are two massive bird cherry trees (I think they are) which overlook my back garden. Although they are nice to look at, they are a complete PITA work wise for much of the year. Blossom everywhere in spring and absolute shedfull's of leaves at this time of the year.

Yeah. That's what mine is like Kev. Because of our mild weather it isn't too bad at the moment (see pic) but it will be a mess in about 3/4 weeks.20221024_105130.webp

Just had the leccy bill through. Hard to compare the effect of the price increase with previous as the bill is much reduced due to last months estimate being much too high with me being away from home for 3 weeks.

I'm currently with Bulb who I chose as they source all their electricity from renewables. My new rates are 32p p/KWh and 50p pd standing charge. How does that compare to you guys.?

The reservoir by us is down lower than I’ve ever seen it, but water still seems plentiful…..

If I am reading it correctly, UTILITA -
rate 1 44.636p for first 2kWh per day
rate 2 11.113p rest of usage.
no standing charge that's GAS

Electric
rate 1 85.332p first 2Kwh
rate 2 36.202p rest of usage. No standing charge.

I think that is ridiculously complicated and no wonder i can't keep tabs on it. I asked for it to be taken straight from my universal credit every month so I don't have to worry about it. However I think they're only allowed to take so much so with all price rises, I'm going to be frustrated I think. The app is crap, too complicated to know what the hell is going on.

Kev, does @Joey66 know you're muscling in on his territory ?
Good advice though mate I have one of these very cherry trees?

Electric - 34.26p p/KWh and 46.28p pd standing charge.
Gas - 9.8 p p/KWh and 27.2p pd standing charge.
Both with OVO energy

Don't have gas in the village so only have leccy, and based on your tariffs at least it seems I'm not being ripped off. Based on my (current) usage of around 18 units a day I'm saving around £10 a month on Kev's and around £40 pm on yours T. Given that my winter usage is closer to 30 units a day I reckon I'd be around £600 pa out of pocket if I were on your tariff T.

Obviously you won't be using anywhere near the same amount of leccy as me, but if your provider is charging excessive rates on the leccy the chances are they'll be doing the same on the gas, Have you looked at changing mate?

I can't at the minute, arrears. When I went through a bad patch mentally I just didn't pay bills so got a bit in debt. I have a payment plan set up I have to pay arrears on top of my bill but I've brought it down by a few hundred. I was doing well until the prices went ridiculous. Always been happy with utilita until this.
