Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I know what you mean about the weather buddy … late October now abd even here in Spain it should be cooling but it was 28 yesterday and I was struggling to stay awake in the mid afternoon so took to my bedroom and cooled off with a fan … the biggest downside of late heat here is the bloody mosquitos !
Last night felt a bit cooler though it’s 17 now at our 8 am with a cloudy covered 25 so perhaps it’s turning
It's late October here too F. ?

One of those days where it’s too warm for a winter coat but if I don’t wear one I will be drenched in a shower! Doesn’t feel like Autumn at all.

We all start the week with a spring in our step after 3 points gained. Two winnable games up next so onwards and upwards.
If you looked at my front garden and drive, you'd know it's Autumn. Our street and the neighbouring streets are all tree-lined with large, mature trees.

It's lovely for most of the year, however when the leaves fall from the trees it's an epic job to keep the place clear even with a leaf blower.

Still not put mine on at all T and still just in T shirts of an evening. Started putting a woolly on when it got dark earlier this month but its too hot.

Monthly leccy bill due today. Sent them a reading a couple of days ago and my daily usage has been pretty constant over the summer at around 18 units per day, so I'll see what the effects of the latest price increase are.
I've only put it on for 20mins at 5am to take the chill out of the air but other than that it's confusing. I started wearing winter coat and woolley hat but end up too hot. Only wearing a jumper n shorts in the house but that's standard as I wear different clothes in and out due to dog hairs

We have a lot of cherry trees, at least I think that's what they are and they shed all bloom in summer, it makes a right mess. Then autumn the leaves are everywhere

We have two Japanese cherry trees in our garden, so I know your pain there as well. They're beautiful trees, but my god, don't they make a mess.

Thankfully they just line the streets but yeah they're horrendous for shedding, if that's the right word
We have sycamore trees down our road. The council used to sweep the leaves but don’t bother anymore due to budget cuts. The leaves get wet, become slippery and turn to mush, quite dangerous for anyone with mobility issues. Guess what, go down the more affluent areas and their pavements are clear, probably just a coincidence though. Rant over, it’s a lovely morning here after last evening‘s thunderstorm. Have a good day, all.?

Same here G, leaves everywhere as well. They don't even cut the grass properly any more so leaves have no chance

We have grass verges which were cut once a month, lucky if it’s once every three months now, admittedly grass does grow much in the summer as it’s too dry, but the weeds take over and now there’s hardly any grass mostly dandelions. Look a mess really.

Leaves quickly become an accident waiting to happen if they are allowed to mulch down on the pavement.

The wall at the front of garden curves around and much to my pain acts as the perfect leaf trap for the large trees just down for me.

For this very reason, I bought a leaf blower/vacuum to get as many cleared from outside our property and fill the green bin with the rest. It's a mammoth job though.

I need to jet wash the drive once I've cleared them too to make sure it doesn't become a slip hazard.

No hosepipe ban there Phil.?

Ours will probably stillbe in place until the end of the year at least. Reservoirs less than 40% capacity.

Same here G, grass verges that do get cut regular to be fair but the big green around the corner is an eyesore, they only cut a strip the width of the machine around the edges, the centre is an overgrown mess.

They also just this year stopped cutting the social housing residents front lawns that have always always been done.

Also all the grass verges are just becoming churned up mess due to cars parking on them so they are 5 yards closer to home. We have loads of parking spaces on my street, loads and people still park on the pavement or the corner, stopping either pedestrians, and we have a lot of disabled here or blocking traffic on the corner.

I really hate how entitled and lazy people are this estate has been here in good condition for decades until modern people think they have a right to destroy the landscaping. Now it's starting to look a mess.
