Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Thanks LT. Another good day today with plenty of eating and resting up- just what the Doctor ordered.

Hope you got a good rest yourself on holiday, it’s been a difficult time for you.
Great stuff mate, glad to hear it, got a good rest thanks and enjoyed our holiday as much as possible under the circumstances, I was with my cousin and her husband which helped.

Hi everybody. Hope you are all having as a good a day as you can. Today has been washing, washing and more washing. So completely uninteresting. I'm also freezing

Welcome back from your hols @larbert toffee, hope you enjoyed it and managed to have a relaxing time. @Armaghtoffee I'm still loving the WSAG posts. even more so today as Bob Latchford got a mention.

Daughter has just gone to pick up her new car- a 16 plate RED Astra. she has zero interest in football so the colour is irrelevant to her. I'm glad she has got something because her current car was becoming increasingly unreliable and costing her a fortune. I'm thinking about changing mine - next month's MOT might decide if it is sooner rather than later.

We've a couple of tricky games coming up, Tottenham and Newcastle, really hope we get something out of them - 4 points would be excellent. The Newcastle match is on our wedding anniversary so that should be a fun night!! I might see if there are tickets available
@anjelikaferrett Tickets available for your wedding anniversary, that sounds like a great night might even fly over for that :D

Good morning all ,a late start for me .I hope all are well and had a good night's sleep . Still haven't got my head around the last game but life goes on
Have a great day all COYB.
Morning Blue, very early start for me. Bloody jet lag, couldn't even tell you what day it is lol

Hopefully we can get back on track at Spurs on Sat. Will be very tough though

Morning all, for @Billy Dean substitute morning for afternoon/evening/night (hope you get back on keel soon). Another week gone by so off to see my friend this morning. We always discuss last weeks’ football so will get the usual sympathetic “ unlucky to lose etc.“ noises. She’s a big Manure and even bigger Ronaldo fan. She has a life-size cardboard figure of him which stands in the corner of her room for Euros and World Cups. I don’t know why I’m friends with her. lol Have a good day all?

Afternoon everyone.

In the words of the Fast Show ....today I have mostly been pruning.

Definitely not my favourite gardening job and bloody hard work to be honest.

I've done about half the mature shrubs that needed doing and have a huge pile of stuff that I need to get rid of. Most of it is very woody and I don't have anywhere to burn it and it would take ages to burn in the incinerator. Composting isn't an option with this type or volume of stuff so I will see if a man with a van can take it away for a fee , either that or ask.our local tree surgeon to chip it but that's probably too costly.

Anyway...now chilling listening to a bit of Melody Gardot a Canadian jazz singer. If you haven't heard of her try it on Spotify or whatever. She has an unusual but beautiful voice and it's not really that Jazzy. Rosie used to be really spooked by the hifi but now she sits here lovely listening to it.

Mrs J gone to the charity shop to reorganise so I'm in charge of the 3 dogs , yikes!

Has anyone caught any of the Sky series This is England ? Its about the Johnson government and is interesting, shocking and even entertaining. Might watch another episode before Mrs J comes home , not really her thing.

Well, have a lovely evening everyone.

Do you really think Newcastle v Everton on your wedding anniversary is a good idea anj? Sounds like a recipie for a disaster to me ???

Good evening folks. hope the jet lag has improved @Billy Dean it is a nightmare.

Today has mostly been washing, ironing and shopping. Productive but not very interesting. Have had to have the heating on for a bit for the last two nights - the cat is delighted. I also got weighed this morning, to my surprise, and utter joy, I gained exactly 1lb on my hols. gym tomorrow for the first time so I'm feeling quite motivated.

Hope you had a good visit with your friend @Gwladysover and Ronaldo wasn't mentioned too often1

Well done. That's good going after a cruise!
Still not put Central heating on yet but sorely tempted.
Put mum's on 2 weeks ago , she complains it's too hot! Can't win.

Log burner has made our central heating largely redundant. Getting some more insulation soon from some Go Green govt grant thing, Nattered with my neighbour earlier, and we kinda agreed that if one us wants to sell up, we let each other know. The joint plot if both (semi det) cottages were demolished, plus no trees, would be huge. In a hugely wanted area of Somerset. Like 4 detached homes homes huge.

Next year Rodney, and all that.
