Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this dark morning here in Hyvinkää. I hope all are well after a good sleep and have a fine day .Shopping today and Lidl have mussels in sauce well worth a try I think.
Lidl’s fresh bread, cheeses and veggies are always really good from my experience. I believe a local cafe buys their croissants from Lidl then sells them on at a heavy healthy margin ?

Good morning from a very wet Italy.
It's our last full day today and surprise surprise yet more thunderstorms are forecast.
Our hotel is beautifully situated 3kms outside Sorrento with unbelievable views of the coastline that we've enjoyed in the 3 days when it hasn't rained.
So, last night we got the shuttle bus into town and enjoyed a wonderful meal and wine. Leaving the restaurant we were caught in the mother of all storms , the rainfall was truly biblical. We were drenched by the time we got to the bus and we had umbrellas and rain jackets. Other poor souls just wore shirts and dresses !
Ah well it's been interesting if not one of our better holidays.
Southampton on Saturday. Surely very winnable and hopefully Calvert-Lewin at least makes the bench. If not we really have to worry about his participation .
Have a lovely day everyone.
You will certainly remember this trip anyway jazzy and that’s what it is all about in the end.

Looks like you are bringing the wet weather home with you though ?

If you have a warm wall try runner beans and cucumbers ,you might wait a while for the first fruits but then they come thick and fast . I grew lots in a big greenhouse and I too had a bad time with broccoli .I tried carrots but they need a fine soil or they fork as they hit a stone . Kale was a great crop but it is big .Do you know it is good to plant in your borders and fill in any spaces with veggies.
Don’t have room for a vegetable plot so have to use containers. Beans were a failure this year think it was just too hot, the carrots did very well though.

Certainly been memorable if not for the right reasons. Such a shame about the weather. The pictures were lovely and I’m touched that you tagged me. Enjoy your last day despite the weather. Safe journey home.?

Just for you I've snapped off a last couple of photos from our balcony before the storm hits.
The first one shows Vesuvius and I hope that's cloud at the top not smoke ( although it is still active apparently) and the second shows Naples which remarkably is in sun!20220929_084835.webp20220929_084945.webp

Thank you. That’s quite a view! Hadn’t realised Vesuvius is still active, if it is smoking perhaps the rain will put it out?.

We have everything in pots too. Got some good carrots, potatoes and sweetcorn. Daughter's boyfriend is very into it. He's sent us beetroot, runner beans and a very strange thing called kohlrabi that he grows. It looksike a knobbly turnip. We used it like potato and it was good.

Morning peeps,

Raining this morning, sun is poking through now. I let Daisy lead again this morning and we just went round the block lol oh well not like we don't go wandering. She gets walked a damn site more than most of the dogs around here.

I feel sorry for the dogs over at the Clampetts, the yards like a junk yard he is a mechanic and seems to do it from his back garden, he also seems to think the bin men should dispose of used car parts for him as well. So there isn't a lot of room in the yard and they never walk them, ever.

Talking about Lidl, it shut down in my town lol lack of footfall. Aldi do well enough though got 2 of those.

Talking shops, some of these companies are really sneaky. Just been informed by the local shopkeeper who has recently turned into a Premier convenience store; Premier is now owned by Tesco as is One stop Shop.

Recently a Co-Op moved from one location to a bigger premises and a Nisa opened in its place; Nisa is part of the Co-Op group apparently. They just eat the little people up don't they.

Have a good one guys.

P.S new Slipknot album out tomorrow, I know you've all been waiting for it lol lol

Isn't it weird how people are different T.

You have a permanent headache and enjoy listening to Slipknot. I listen to Slipknot and end up with a headache ?

Different type of headache Freddo, tension headaches so noise is not an issue, thankfully. Migraines on the other hand I need dark and quiet, but don't have them often anymore. I find Slipknot calming as my mind is so chaotic, I listen to them to level out, weird as you say.
