Lincoln cathedral looks spectacular H. Love visiting old cathedrals but never been there.
It’s certainly spectacular, There is an entry charge, unlike Peterborough which is free, visitors can only go as far as the blue rope which is visible at the bottom of the picture. As you can see it put a lot of people off, the cathedral itself was nearly empty but it was heaving outside.

Morning all, bright and sunny here but there is a cool breeze at the moment so it’s quite pleasant. Just back from Morrisons, Mr G. filled up with petrol on the way in and when we came out 30 minutes later they had reduced the price by 3p a litre, Mr G. in full Victor Meldrew mode on the way home. lol That’s some drop in temperature @blue1948 , must admit I haven’t seen banners/sheets what are they? How‘s the hangover @Barnfred 55 ? Enjoy meeting up with your friend, @anjelikaferrett, and have a great day everyone.?
Not too bad thanks H.

Had a good day yesterday. Got the bus into Falmouth. Got chatting to a tourist on the bus, a lady in her early sixties i would guess. Anyway, she had parked her car up at Helford Passage and was getting the bus into Falmouth. The plan was to walk the coastal path back to her car. About 4 miles as the crow flies but probably closer to 3 times that via the CP, which also descends into at least 12 beaches/bays along the way. So possibly the equivalent to climbing Helvellyn. She seemed to appreciate this though and she did seem an experienced walker so I'm sure she'd have been OK.

Had a pasty for lunch which I ate sitting on the pier waiting for my boat to turn up. I had decided to take a boat trip along the Fal, up towards Trelissick (A NT property where Cal's old boss was based) and then back to Falmouth. I've not done this trip before and I was a tad disappointed if I'm honest with you. For those that don't know, The Fal is quite an expansive river and is actually the second largest natural harbour in the world after Sydney harbour. There are plenty of places of interest on the river that I was hoping to see from a different aspect, such as the church as St Just, Mylor harbour and the Pandora Inn at Restronguet, but the boat just took a route down the centre of the river until it got to Trelissick, parked up for 10 minutes and then did the return journey. Still, it was a nice way to keep cool on a warm day and I was able to get a few decent pics. The properties you can see in some of the pics will all be at least £2m+, some considerably more.

Had a few beers in one of my favourite Falmouth pubs when we got back, and then the bus driver very kindly dropped me off right outside the village pub when I got back. Anyway, made a spontaneous decision to order a spicy pizza from the van that visits the village on a Friday evening, and have a couple of pints in the village pub whilst I'm waiting. Got home around 6pm, made myself a G&T and sat outside drinking, eating Pizza and listening to The Cure live performances until the sun went behind the trees (about 7.30pm). At some stage I fell asleep watching England's women

Another beautiful day today. Sam and Peter are coming around for a barbie later and I have some ribs to part cook before I finish off on the barbie so that's my afternoon sorted, Have a good day everyone.

Yeah. We're used to Liverpool being free for it's cathedrals and also most of the museums. Remember going to York and being shocked at being charged to enter the cathedral. It was a fiver back then so is probably over a tenner by now. Think we had to pay to go into Westminster too, but we were used to it by that stage given that they charge you just to breathe in London. lol

I went to see the cathedral after we played them in the Carabao cup and did the same thing, stopped at the blue rope.

Good morning. It rained here yesterday - we had some very heavy showers on and off all day. I'm looking forward to today. Meeting up with an old friend who I haven't seen for 30+ years. Reconnected with her via social media a few years ago. She's in Durham this weekend for a concert at the Cathedral. Richard Hawley, who having googled him was a member of Pulp. We went on holiday to New York together in around 1988 and had an absolute blast. She's from Manchester. I met her when we both worked in Warrington Hospital. The first job we both had. She still works there.

Don't know if I told you that daughter has applied to be a prison officer. She had her medical/fitness test last Thursday and passed so she's just waiting for her background checks to be completed and she will have a new job.

Have a good day all.

Excellent, I expect your daughter may get to meet a few people who post in here…. ?

Great photos Fred surprised you could hold the camera straight as they normally bob about .What definition are you taking that allows three pics?
Don't know mate. I just point the phone and press the little round circle at the bottom.

If it helps, I upload 1 photo at a time, but I realised that you can upload more than 1 photo per post. If that makes sense.

The museums in Liverpool have always been a great resource to me when bringing the kids for the weekend. Always something in them to attract a young mind and you can easily spend an afternoon learning something new.

Hi guys. Just on my way home from Durham. I've had a great afternoon with my friend. It was like it was only a week since we last met, never mind 30 years. Much beer and vodka consumed in the sunshine. Was going to walk up to Durham cathedral to take some pics for you but never quite made it. That's free to enter as well but there is a box asking for a donation.

Love the pics Fred.
