Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good evening each, hope you all had a good day. After dropping Harry off at school this morning we decided to get the train to Lincoln to make use of our new Senior Railcards, which arrived yesterday. Here’s a couple of pics. Mr G. on Steep Hill, they weren’t kidding when they named it, the picture doesn’t do justice to just how steep it is and it’s even steeper when, like us, you come from the flatlands of East Anglia lol The second pic shows Mr G. after I took the photo, he didn’t wait for me as I walked behind clinging on to the handrail for fear of falling.

Great photos.

Good morning. It rained here yesterday - we had some very heavy showers on and off all day. I'm looking forward to today. Meeting up with an old friend who I haven't seen for 30+ years. Reconnected with her via social media a few years ago. She's in Durham this weekend for a concert at the Cathedral. Richard Hawley, who having googled him was a member of Pulp. We went on holiday to New York together in around 1988 and had an absolute blast. She's from Manchester. I met her when we both worked in Warrington Hospital. The first job we both had. She still works there.

Don't know if I told you that daughter has applied to be a prison officer. She had her medical/fitness test last Thursday and passed so she's just waiting for her background checks to be completed and she will have a new job.

Have a good day all.

Morning all, bright and sunny here but there is a cool breeze at the moment so it’s quite pleasant. Just back from Morrisons, Mr G. filled up with petrol on the way in and when we came out 30 minutes later they had reduced the price by 3p a litre, Mr G. in full Victor Meldrew mode on the way home. lol That’s some drop in temperature @blue1948 , must admit I haven’t seen banners/sheets what are they? How‘s the hangover @Barnfred 55 ? Enjoy meeting up with your friend, @anjelikaferrett, and have a great day everyone.?

Poor old Mr G. Thought he looked very stylish in his Everton polo shirt in Lincoln , quite fancy one of those - the polo shirts , not Lincoln that is.

Very overcast here today and neither hot or cold.

Mrs J off to the Animal Rescue today and will avoid walking the dogs in tomorrow's heat.

So a restful day I think. Cricket , Golf and Tour de France . Then some veggie Paella tonight.

Have a lovely day everyone.
