Back in Black?

Always though Hotel California was the biggest selling studio album by a band. Could be wrong.

Not a fan of C&W but that genre does have massive record sales.

Yep, Back in Black was written mostly by him. An album that the record company pretended was a tribute, as a way to break the new singer.

Back in Black, (the song) was written by Scott and is all about being er, back in the black at the bank after the sales of Highway to Hell, which he also wrote. (That song is about a road in Australia, not some reference to hades etc etc btw).

I think The Eagles have the biggest selling group album, but pretty sure its their Best Of The Eagles.

I guess it starts with artists you really like, hence folk like Dylan, The Boss, Van the Man dont get a mention for me, despite me liking plenty of their stuff.

Dolly Parton and Neil Diamond were/are geniuses to my ear.

But my absolute favourite writer/lyricist is the late Bon Scott. A poet.

I'd forgotten about Neil Diamond. Good call.

Isnt it just? Nikki's lasting gift to me was introducing me to the simple brilliance of country music, Dolly and Johnny Cash esp.

I sent her on her final journey together with that song.

What a beautiful song to choose. And so very fitting. I've had a soft spot for country music for a very long time. Johnny Cash is a huge favourite. I used to have a 100 Best Country Songs CD I would play on the school run. My now 24 year old daughter still loves Jolene, Rhinestone Cowboy and Rose Garden.

You mention Cash. We entered the crem to "A thing called love", which again, worked on similar levels. The church to "Prettiest Eyes" by the Beautiful South. She hasnt haunted me yet, so reckon I got sommet right!

Have you seen the documentary of Glen Campbell when he was suffering from Alzheimer's ?
Broke my heart at that one ,my gran on my mother's side and my mum's sister and brother all suffered from it .
