Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Wow @Barnfred 55, you've had a good time. Hope the hangover is receding a bit. Love the hermit crabs @Sassy Colombian, glad they are enjoying their new home - after the initial shock. lol
I've loved the very long weekend. So much so that I'm having a two day week next week as well. Mr F and I are going to go out for lunch on Friday and then to the cinema to see Jurassic World. (I know - but I genuinely love all those films whilst appreciating that some of them are utter garbage) Did the stair measuring. Thanks @blue1948 for your advice. Just need to get the carpet now. Also need to fit in a visit to Liverpool in the next few weeks.

I've just been watching Wales v Ukraine. Well done to Wales but feel sad for Ukraine.
No. Still suffering Anj. Just about to throw some Iceland hot and spicy chicken strips in the oven. I'll have them with some Hot Malaysian chilli sauce. That should sort me out. Diet cokes for me tonight.

I quite like the Jurassic World films Anj and will try and get to Falmouth to see it too before my trip up to Liverpool. As a senior citizen membership card holder it only costs £5.50. Plus I'll also need a haircut before my trip. I think there are a few old faces in the latest film. Basically anybody who didn't get eaten in any of the first five. lol

I'm really looking forward to going to the races. Haven't been since I left Liverpool. It's a midweek meeting so hopefully we won't have to contend with hoards of drunken Jocks and Geordies. lol

They are amazing. I love Iceland's hot and spicy things - because they usually are. Yes, the original cast are all in this one. It should be fun. Mr F has been watching Musselburgh races on TV this afternoon - it looks like a really nice track. You will have a great time. Something to look forward to as well.

Morning all ,

Yes I know this is a ridiculous time of the morning to be posting but little Rosie being the good girl that she is was crying at 4am to go out for a poo and , well you know what it's like , I couldn't get back to sleep afterwards.

Which is all a bit of a shame really because I was in the middle of an Everton / Gareth Bale / David Beckham dream. Curiously I remember it in vivid detail. Beckham was Bale's agent ! I was negotiating the transfer for Everton! Bale wanted a deal that only lasted until the World Cup and only wanted to play home games ( to maintain fitness and freshness for the December comp) . Every time I spoke to Becks he was eating a wrap from a paper bag ( figure that one out ! Lampard and Kenwright were desperate to have Bale having sold Richy but the deal stank to me so I offered him a "token " 20 k a week for 1 season with a break clause in January - then I woke up . Love to know what happened in the end.

Anyway, it's raining yet again - hopefully it clears up later so I can get into the garden.

Have a lovely day everyone.

This time of mornings great Jazz. Raining here also, again.

Hope you're all good. I may or may not be busy today once my shopping arrives, walk the dog and I have a few phone calls to make as the carpet people didn't take the right amount of money. They were supposed to take for the month but have taken only a week.

My pet insurance doesn't appear to have come out but I'll wait until later. I don't like this company I've had problems since I started up with them not taking money when they're supposed to and then charging me a tenner when it isn't there when they do try. As you know I am on a budget and I'm not good with money so I need things to be done as expected.

Enjoy your day guys.

yeah budgets are a pain.

still at least things seem to be improving for you on the home front with the new bathroom etc.

never sure if it's better or worse if they take less than they should. we've been underpaying ( apparently ) on our gas and electricity and now owe a stonking amount !

just checked the forecast and it's drying up by 10am. Rosie hates going for walks on the lead so we will be increasing this to get her used to it. she's really good in all other respects. they don't get that many walks because the garden is so big they can run around to their heart's content.

give Daisy a hug and kiss from me mate. have a great day T

I wish we had a huge garden for Daisy that's the main negative about where I live but plenty of nice walks, only is a hassle when I'm in pain but nowt I can do about that unfortunately.

Daisy is still in bed the lazy bugger lol not even been to the toilet yet. I've been up an hour nearly.

She finally woke lol just been out and there is a council worker on a very loud quadbike doing weeding.

The council for some reason have stopped cutting the gardens of the council flats, around from me, they've always been done when the verges get cut. I have never known them to be this overgrown before, there are elderly residents in a lot of them and they're a good foot or two high now. They already leave the big green except an edging.

Funnily enough, me and Daisy walked through a more affluent part of town the other day and shock horror the green was cut fully. Also a lot less litter about.

As some of you may know, we adopted some hermit crabs a couple of years ago and I’m always puzzled by their boring lives and wanted to enhance it, so this week I ordered some new items and with Sofia we changed their living conditions, we added a new bath pool and added coconut shavings to half of the tank, before we only had sand. Also added some moss and some new sticks. One of the crabs is loving it and has been more active than ever. The other one freaked out for a bit and left her shell so I was afraid that she was going to die, and Sofia was going to be devastated. Thankfully after an initial shocking period, she has come to her senses and is back in her shell. Here are some pics of Shelby and Hermit and their new living quarters :)

Sass - I have to ask - why are there 2 sausages in a glass bowl in photo 1 ? At least I hope they are sausages ......... otherwise Shelby and Hermit are very neat and accurate !

Good to see you up and about so early @Barnfred 55 lol , can I presume that you are sans hangover today ?
I'm awake Jazz. Who said I was up and about?

Feeling a lot better today thanks mate. May have a couple of days abstention and get back into a routine of exercise and activity. Been a heavy few days.

Mind you, I still have that glass of Remy waiting for me.

Morning all, still raining here. House is starting to feel quite cold, the logical thing would be put the heating on but goes against the grain to put it on in June, think we’ll go and look round the shops, it will be warmer there lol. We have grass verges down our road which are not cut as regularly as they used to be which encourages weeds to seed and now are more dandelion than grass, also the drains aren’t cleaned and get blocked by leaves, starting to look a mess. Have told councillors when they send survey out but always get a reply “your comments have been noted”. Rant over! Have a good day, all.
