Had a great day. Really enjoyable crab salad for lunch on the back of the boat with a glass or 2 of white wine. Hair raising ride around the island with the neighbour on his turbo charged outboard. (Think he was testing me) and popped into my hotel bar on the way back. One barman was a scouser and the second was an Irish man from Naas, same town as my old mum. Just off out now to celebrate my neighbours birthday but I promised the guys I'd pop in for a nightcap later. Scousers. They get everywhere?

What a fun day you have had. Your pictures are brilliant.

Hello everybody. Looks like there is a lot of productivity and nice things going on here today. @Gwladysover Pleased you have had improvement with your double vision. @jazzy Love the furniture for your Mum. Really nice. @Barnfred 55 Thanks for sharing the pics. Beautiful place and the church with the seashells is just gorgeous. @fandjango Enjoy Oxford and hope your guitar playing morning was as lovely and as chilled as it sounds. Somehow I don't see you and your buddies launching into a thrash metal jamming session lol

I moved my place of work today from the kitchen to where my son used to work when he was working from home. It's only taken me 6 months to decide that yes, he is settled in Nottingham and is unlikely to return. So, I now have a computer desk and much nicer views. (not that I spend ANY time looking out of the window) I also have my kitchen/dining area back.

I need your advice. There's a group of 10 of us who socialise together. Because we haven't all been out together for ages I have invited them all round for a barbecue over the Bank Holiday weekend. One of the gang A, has a dachsund. It actually belongs to her daughter but she minds him while she's at work. She has ruined it. Her whole life revolves around the dog, social events have to be changed to accommodate the dog. He can't be left alone because he has separation anxiety. If some of us meet for lunch, the dog has to come and it's embarrassing because it barks - if anybody moves or comes into the pub. I'm sure other people having their lunch don't want to listen to a yappy dog. Anyway, A and her sister have just responded to my invitation and asked can they bring the dog. I don't know what to say. I'm annoyed that they have asked. I don't know how our cat will react to a dog - she's never met any, and I don't know what the dog is like around cats. I also don't think it would be fair to lock the cat up in a bedroom for the afternoon/evening. It is her house after all and she's very sociable and likes to be in the middle of what is going on. To be honest I'm really irritated that A has even asked. If I say no then either her or her sister will drop out so they can mind the dog. I guess I could say yes but he has to stay outside but then if it rains then that solution is no good....

Please help, dog lovers and/or voices of reason! Finally here's some pics from my new office (including cat who also moved with me!)
We had a similar situation ,a couple were invited for a meal just after we moved in .They decided it would be nice to stay over on the way to their summer home ,oh and bring their dog !! We said it would be arkward and the dog could stay in the garage they ended up leaving it in the car for the night. It is your home and if you care for your pet it is the choice to make.

Morning all, cool and breezy here today. Grandson safely delivered to school, his friend was waiting for him which was good as although he’s 13 he’s not that confident and nervous of older kids. He’s not a bit laddish and I do worry about him being picked on but he seems okay. Waiting on a delivery of sunflower hearts for the bird feeders. We deliberated quite hard about whether to buy or not. The last lot we bought about 4 months ago was 20kg for £30., they have gone up to £41. We get quite a lot of pleasure from seeing the birds in the garden and after getting a deal for new customers on a different website decided to go ahead, whether it will be the last lot we buy who knows? Got my hospital appointment this afternoon for my double vision, so hopefully I may be able to see straight soon, fingers crossed rather than my eyes?. Great pics @Barnfred 55 , will you still talk to us now you have moved upmarket?lol Have a great day, everyone.
I have also noticed the huge price hike in sunflower hearts and tried shopping round. You will be lucky to find them much cheaper anywhere at present TBH.

Recent Price Increases
Due to the horrific events unfolding in Ukraine, there has been major disruption to the Sunflower Hearts market, the majority of which is grown in Ukraine and its neighbouring countries. This means that unfortunately, prices have increased significantly. We apologise for any inconvenience.

The answer is No. If there is any chance your cat will be affected the dog can't come. What about if the dog is kept on a lead throughout?

Love the pics Anj. In answer to your query re. the dog - it’s your house and if you are not happy to have the dog then the answer must be no they can’t bring it. If one of them has to drop out because of the dog then that is up to them not your fault.

Doesn’t look as though they will be going down in price anytime soon. Perhaps I should have ordered double.:(
