Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Went for a few pints with #1 son and his new, ish, girlfriend earlier. Never met her, but she was an utterly delightful, and funny, young lady. It was clear that she and son had that "thing", and me and her seemed to get on great. Son confirmed as much just now.

Mad thing is, when she went to the loo, we both agreed that she was similar. (in humour and general D'fuq) to my sister, (his Aunt who he adores, as do I), and my darling Nikki.

Aint life weird? Or it repeats itself. Or sommet.
aaw that's so lovely. My son has also got a newish girlfriend who we've been meeting for the third time this weekend. She's such a nice person and they seem to be a good match. It's all you want for them isn't it - that they make their way in the world and are happy.

Out for a walk along the Union canal earlier with my missus and oldest grandson, met a beautiful, friendly horse who followed us right along the fence of his field, luckily Mrs LT had some polo's in her pocket which he enjoyed.
Also met swans with cygnets which are the first I've seen up here this year.

Fab pics @Sassy Colombian You look lovely. Mr Sassy does not look like I imagined him lol Wasn't expecting a beard for some reason! The barn looks amazing too.

Lovely pics @Sassy Colombian. You look fabulous and the bride is beautiful, gorgeous dress. Agree with Anj, I didn’t imagine Mr Sass had a beard either! What a great setting for a wedding.
Awe. Thanks, ladies. Everyone look so nice yesterday, it was just a lovely day. Now I’m curious what you both imagined Mr. Sass to look like? lol

Hello friends. We were driving back from Nottingham so missed most of the football stuff. I can't listen to football in the car, I get way too distracted! Caught about the last 20 minutes of the matches when we got home. Oh dear no quadruple - poor lambs, they will be upset.

Had a lovely weekend in Nottingham. Son and his girlfriend showed us the sights. It is a very vibrant city, loads of bars and places to eat. I drank waaaay more than I should have done yesterday afternoon and evening. We went in here, allegedly the oldest pub in England.

Same with me, Ange. We were driving home too so I was actually able to watch the first half when at halftime things were not looking too bad, but I missed the second half and given how bad it turned out it seems it was best.

Glad to hear you had a good time with your son and his gf. Wow that’s a very old pub, very cool to have a drink at a place with so much history.

That’s great. Nothing better than when one gets along with the in-laws and viceversa, it makes a great difference to have such relationship harmony.

Seems like you had a lovely day with your missus and your grandson, LT. These are moments to treasure.
