My Grandad was a tinkerer too, his garage/workshop was full of old car parts, nuts, bolts, assorted bits of old metal and a wonderful smell of oil and Swarfega. This is a picture Nan and Grandad with his “contraption “ made from the aforementioned bits of old metal.View attachment 166179

What a lovely photo andthey are "bits of old metal" it is a work of art ,so much so that even if it didn't work I could look at it for hours .Isn't it nice to see grandparents of that era ? Now a lot are full of botox and silicone .
I feel kids don't get to have a chilhood anymore and we don't get old gracefully either.

Good morning all on this frightening day ,weather here is dull but hopefully will brighten up later .My computer has been getting slower and I have tried a few things ,the wife suggested I get a new one ( This is 10 years old ,which is ancient for a mac) just the thought of spending that money made me reinstall the operating system ,like a refresh straight from the factory .Well I knew from last time there would be a few "f's" flying around so did it whilst milady was asleep .
It went surprisingly well just about 4 hours !!! now obviously it is up and running just got to get back to where I was .
The result by the way is encouraging as it is running much faster . Shame I still type slowly .

Morning all!

Two nights ago I dreamt we beat Palace 6-1 with both Richarlison and strangely Mike Newell on the scoresheet.

Worried now as I awoke elated again this morning to our win but this time it was only 4-1. Big Nev came on in the 80th minute though ?

Damn you Everton, look what you have done to me.

get a program called CC Cleaner by piriform, it's free and has cleaning tools on it to help with PC housekeeping and a free program called smart defrag as I assume you have HDD drives and not solid state if it's 10 year old.

Do a bit of maintenance once a week and it'll run much smoother all the time. It takes 2 mins to clean with CC and defrag can run in the background.

We got this today lads and lasses, I know we can get over the line tonight and have faith we will.

Disregard the gaming bit, not quite sure why it is marketed as such, it's just a browser with lots of customisation.

Fred make sure you don't have an SSD drive before you defrag, SSD don't need it and it can actually be detrimental to it's lifespan.

Click on MyPC and your drives should come up with how much storage capacity they have and what type of drive. Smart defrag will prompt you anyway before doing a SSD as it will detect it but doesn't hurt to double down. CCleaner has all that info on as well.

They thought it would be done this morning. he's gone now, the other guy is coming back to check for leaks later but it could be saturday or monday now as can't lay it while it's wet.
