By God Liverpool are awful when you look at their squad! I didn’t want to put Gerrard in as I think he has lost it big time and Reina is struggling too. The only player I would legitimately want from them is Glen Johnson. Suarez is obviously a good player. The rest of them are meh other than Sahin but he hasn’t played full time for a year or so.

GK - Howard: In previous years Reina was the better choice, but his decline has been swift and painful to watch.
LB - Baines: Rodgers wants Downing to play at LB. Says it all.
CB - Distin: If he was five years younger he'd be our captain. Pacy, elegant skill, dominant in the air.
CB - Heitinga: Very hard decision between him, Jags and Agger.
RB - Hibbert: When he's fit, he's very solid in defence. Glen Johnson cannot defend at all.
LM - Pienaar: WBA was the first bad game he's had since January. Liverpool have not had a good leftie in all that time.
CM - Gibson: Every team needs a defensive-minded midfielder. Liverpool don't have one.
CM - Fellaini: Before the WBA game, when was his last bad day? No, i can't remember it either.
RM - Gerrard: Too early to tell if Naismith is the answer here. Coleman and Osman not as good as Gerrard on the right.
CF - Mirallas: He's Suarez but without the constant cheating, equine facial features and 8-game bans for wearing a white hood
CF - Jelavic: Best striker in the city, both before and after the departures of Kuyt and Carroll.

Oh and the side debate about Southall and Martyn actually gives me a warm glow. The two best keepers I've ever seen play for us. It's like trying to decide between Mila Kunis and Rachel Bilson: whatever decision you make, you're right!

Agreed on Barkley.

Reina has gone off the boil big time but I would still say if they were both on form Reina would be the better keeper.
