Smoking shisha is legal mate, regardless of what the papers sensationalise it to be, he can spend his wages wherever, whenever and however he wants? Why should he keep his head down just because they've lost a game?

And you're right, the bullfighting pimp thing is quite cool

I personally don't understand getting rid of Del to get this guy in, whether it be loan or buy.

Just doesnt add up.

Sadly, Del hasn'y really worked out though, so it may be time to try something else.

I'd rather we loaned him first, just in case he's tosh, less risk then

I'm fine with a bit of risk, but he'd cost so much to buy that I'd rather us hedge our bets and loan him

I'd have no problem with taking him on loan, but the thinking behind this is very much "Old" Everton.

Plus, with transfer inflation being what it is, even if someone doesn't work out, the loss realised on sale could be quite small anyway.

However, we'll have a finite pot to dip into, so a lot depends on what other players Walsh and Koeman want and how big our pot is.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a "try to buy" approach in some situations

This is one situation where I'd be find with it, as it'll be less headaches to try and sign him in summer than it would be to sign him now and then have to try and offload him

Also, if he's playing for a contract it might light a fire under him to prove he deserves a full contract

Just my opinion

I was all for getting young Januzaj on loan for the same reason

Wouldn't cost much to loan him, he'll be hungry to prove his worth and if it didn't work out we could cut him loose with minimal effort

Depends on :-

  • If United want the cash and
  • How highly Walshie and Kooee rank him
If they like him enough, they'll likely buy him. If they think he's a stopgap ( a la Valencia ) then they'll be looking for a loan deal.

Tough call really, but I suspect we might be paying cash.

Loan to buy makes a lot sense with Depay, lots of talent but can he be consistent? We'll only know that by giving him a chance but I'd rather not spend 20-30 mil first to grant him that chance.

I agree. He hasn't showed much at all at United and therefore splashing 20m on him feels a little bit desperate. But a loan would be fine, if he's not performing let him go back. But I guess that's what United are afraid of.
