I don't believe there's not a short list of managers that Brands and the rest of the board have agreed fit the profile. Any club should have one regardless of how well they're doing, because no-one knows what's around the corner. City have the best manager in the world, but they surely have a list somewhere just in case Pep suddenly feels he needs to be back in Spain or gets hit by a bus etc.

I no longer think Silva is the long term answer but I'd hope that unless they get the word that someone on that short list is available, for a feasible sum in compensation and would come mid-season, that they hold their nerve and hope to get through this patch and get to the close season.

I trust Moyes to keep the PL status but appointing him brings its own dangers. Look at United with OGS, he comes in, gets a response and a wave of sentiment leads them to making the appointment permanent, when he probably isn't the kind of manager they were after, which I think applies to Moyes also?

If Moyes was appointed there would be no sentiment forthcoming from @davek that`s for sure lol

Nor me.

Appointing Moyes would be the end for me. I'd genuinely give up on Everton entirely. There's got to be at least the slightest belief that the club gives a crap for me to 'support' it - I couldn't if they brought him back. I'd be lying to myself.

Same here mate, it’d be no better than bringing Allardyce back, just a more palatable version.

The only thing id want from Gladbach is Denis Zakaria. Theyve got Dortmund tomorrow and i doubt they will still be at the top after that.

This is the article you have been waiting for, and even includes a list of candidates.

This line is absolutely crushing:

Oh look, that rat faced scumbag McNulty trying to get another Everton manager sacked.

WTF is it with him? The weird 'kin get.

Would you prefer to see the current clown take us into the championship?

And option C is?

Dont ask me, im currently ok with option A, Silva and halfway through convincing myself that option B, Moyes, wouldnt be the worst idea in the world.

Appointing option C, mid season, would be beyond tricky, every manager has their risks, but my main option Cs are Gallardo and Garcia, both of which would be a disgusting gamble considering our current place.

I think the word "stability" is one that screams out at me as being a need in our present position and regardless of Sunderland etc the only word that associates equallly with "stability" is "Moyes"...short term he would jump at the opportunity if for no other reason than to be given the opportuntiy to prove himself again in the top flight

 unveil the mighty midget.

he's just named Benitez/Howe/Mourinho/Arteta/Marco Rose (?) and said Silva has been afforded (little) protection by no obvious replacement.
Yeah because you've just listed a load of garbage managers apart from Jose and Rose who has a reference from Klopp which you can take that how you want.
Jose and his tactics are well past sell by date. He is yesterdays man. Cant understand why so few see it. His big comeback will NEVER happen

For Moyes see poor man's Jose! Not the man for todays game. And I was a big fan of what he did on that budget. Greatest respect.
