How long is this saga gonna continue for?? I wish everton would just put a bid in or say were not interested and get it over with otherwise this guy is going to come out with more crap about money, feeding children etc etc...

Reports in France suggest that Stephane M'Bia is deciding between a move to Everton or Marseille.

The Cameroon midfielder will cost around 8 million euros and his departure from Rennes has been sanctioned.

It now remains for ther player to decide whether he wants to try his luck in England, with a bigger salary to match, or play in the Champions League with OM.

Let's face it, if it's true that he's got that choice to make then he's in the bag.

Yes, it's possible that in M'Bia's mind, football considerations outweigh money.

Have you read any of his quotes of the past 18 months?

Of course i have. Marseille could pay him as much as we would. Its up to whether he considers himself good enough for English football...OR stay in a league where he knows he can compete for trophies and play in champions league. He could after all earn a substantial bonus just playing in the champions league group stages.

Marseille are looking to land Stephane Mbia and Gervinho as they plan a summer rebuilding programme.

Both men haven been strongly linked with a move to England, but could favour a few more seasons in France before taking the step up into the Premier League.

Mbia is currently on the books of Rennes, but has expressed a desire to move on this summer.

A move to Everton has been widely touted, but he admits he would welcome the opportunity to try his luck at Stade Velodrome.

"Marseille are a great team and to play in the Champions League would be a great challenge. I would love that," Mbia told skysports.com.

Rennes are believed to be willing to do business for around €12million (£10.3m).

Ivory Coast international striker Gervinho, who is at Le Mans at present, has also hinted that he may be willing to join Marseille during the transfer window.

"Marseille and the Champions League would be great but I don't know. Le Mans will have something to say about it," he said.

He's not expressing a preference for OM. Bog standard answer. Of course he'd be up for playing CL with one of France's biggest clubs and we haven't made a bid as far as we know.
The lad talks way too much, and I haven't forgotten is gush over Le Arse, but for those questioning his attitude he did end up staying with Rennes last year and playing well rather than demanding a transfer and sulking. He'd improve us massively and I really hope we're still in for him.

Have you seen a lot of him mate?

Probably not too much more than many others I'm sure mate, but I'll stick my neck out anyway.:) From what I have seen he's an athlete in the modern style, more Viera than the terrier Mashpotato type holder.

We get a fair amount of European league coverage on TV out here, seen him in a few international games since the rumours of our interest broke too but he was playing higher up because of Song.

You rate him highly then mate? where would you see him slotting in for us? What extra do you think he would bring?

Sorry i have only seen him in a couple of games!

When we were first interested we were all banging on about 442 and needing a mobile holder. He's definitely mobile and looks combatative (is that a word? if not it should be) in the defensively inferior French league. His distribution always seemed to be ok, and positive in the main. Simple things done well.

Some might argue we're not looking to play 442 anymore, and Pip's form in mf surprised me certainly. But I'd still like Pip at RB in the absense of a quality experienced signing there and I wouldn't want to burn Rodders out by starting him all campaign in mf. M'Bia and a young RB like Naughton and we have a hell of a lot of options.

A lot of conjecture like, I'm not expert on nowt
