He invoked Dixie Dean and Dave Hickson in his post-match interview. Legendary stuff. I'm not bashing Moyes, but apart from the people's club statement I never got the impression that Moyes really "got" everton. Martinez seems to "get it"

if alex ferguson was in moyes ear every five minutes as seems to have been happening then its clear why

2 points more than we got from the 4 corresponding games last season.

Norwich away, lost last season - drew this season.
WBA at home, won last season - drew this season.
Chelsea at home, lost last season - won this season.
West Ham away, won last season - won this season.

Last season from those same games = 6 points.
This season from those same games = 8 points.

Can you compare the historical average of the last 11 Years please mate.

He's impressing me more by the day tbh. He's not put a foot wrong yet IMO & I like the way the side are starting to play

Impossible to judge him on the defence because it's pretty much unchanged from last year.

The full backs seem to reluctant to go forward. Too early to judge if this is a Martinez tactic. I'll be disappointed if it is because I think that's been one of the most entertaining dimensions of the way we play over the past few years.

Oh its not kneejerk.

He was tosh for Wigan, hes tosh for us.

Hes got Crawley Town written all over him.

He wasn't tosh for Wigan. He scored 13 goals for them, in his first season in England, for a relegated side. More goals than anyone in our side scored, or in LFC's side bar Suarez.

He hasn't done much for us yet, but then again, he's not played much either.

Once he gets his feet under the table here properly and there's no chance of revolt he'll start experimenting, going three at the back when it's called for in his own mind (and when he has players like Stones in carry it out...I reckon he's of the opinion you cant teach old dogs new tricks, atm).

Maybe, but he did say he choose formations on what best for the players he got, he doesn't have a favourite formation, what we have to look at the players he buys and they could be clues in what he wants in the future. I do like the way he made our defenders stop hoofing the ball, played Fellaini in his proper place right away.
