Supposedly "bigger" clubs being linked with our manager is like them being linked with our players.

It proves we are fast becoming a major force again.

FWIW I don't see Bob leaving for at least four years and even then, it will be to a much bigger club than Arsenal.

Don't see Martinez leaving after a season. Look at how long he stayed at Wigan. I think he'll stay for at least 3-4 seasons. If Arsene were to get sacked you would likely see a manager musical chairs for a few years at Arsenal. Not something a manager wants to step into.

He did it to Swansea didn't he? Can't see it though.

Only after he'd won 2 successive promotions; he's not the sort to walk out after 1 season. He was at Wigan for 4 years and even turned down the Villa job point blank. He'll go on to bigger and better than us, that's obvious unless we can find genuine investment but that isn't gonna happen anytime soon, especially given his recent talk about plans to improve the training ground

where are the papers getting this idea?

The media in general don't want us to succeed, they DON'T want us in the top 4....simple reason is, Arsenal makes them more money (bigger fan base)...

if football was still simply a sport....Everton would be a great underdog story right now....instead we're still be ignored in general, because football is a business.....Sky'S punditry on sunday was all about things Arsenal did wrong instead of things Everton done great (and redknapp & Co were visibly gutted we won 3-0)...

Sky & the rest of the media have already lost Man United from its top 4 this season (this loss is compensated by the gain of liverpool getting back in & about to win the league)...but they won't want both Arsenal & United to drop out in the same year (which might be a problem for us with referees aswell)...

Jesus. Bit pretentious that? "More than a [Poor language removed]"

If you knew owt about the history of the region and how its football club came to be the manifestation of its cultural and national identity you wouldn't be so quick to post the expletives.

Hope this helps.

:)

Just the 1 promotion at swansea, wasn't it?

Chelsea have loads of history. What I don't think Martinez would appreciate is the 'win the league or you're fired' pressure that would come with that job.
no mate.

Chelsea have about ten years of 'history'.

until the dodgy Russian started filtering his ill gotten gains through them, they were nothing.

Er, you might want to think about that. Take away the last nine years of russian money and what have they ever done? One league title in their previous hundred years isn't much history (aside from a cup winners cup in 1971). Think they were relegated two or three times in the late 70s and early 80s too.

Chelsea would kill for our honours list, as would all clubs who aren't Liverpool, Man Utd or Arsenal.

Anyway, stop buying papers and pay no attention to the media.
