Martinez Won't Leave.... Right?

We've just got to get our club to the point where players/personnel are linked with us rather than ours linked with someone else.

We're on the right track.

Maybe if we get 4th some billionaire out there will be watching this season and fall in love. We would be his beautiful working class girl that he wants to take to Paris, Milan, Madrid. Give her the world her beauty deserves.

The signing of Ozil proves the Gooners have cash to burn if Wenger has the desire to spend it.

Arsene isn't going anywhere..

The difference between us and Arsenal, and most of the other big clubs is that Martinez sees us as a sleeping giant. How much more would we appreciate getting that final Champions League spot, or going even further, than the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea etc...? They expect it, we don't. We'll make him feel like the most appreciated man in world football, would Arsenal do that? I think this kind of thing is really important for Martinez, you can see how much he loves the club already, he's a bit of a romantic.

Truthfully the only team I can see him leaving us for is Barcelona in 3-5 years. I think he's good enough to manage them and he's got many connections with the club.

I see it same way but the timeframe a little off . Berto has a long-term strategy for this club and he is only 40 so a 10 year plan seems a more appropriate for his schedule before entertaining new challenges............

The fact that he didn't leave Wigan when Villa and Them came calling should tell folk that he's not a normal career opportunist manager who will jump ship at the first available opportunity.

I reckon he's probably here for 3-5 years. Hopefully longer, like.

I agree, but you forget how quickly the expectation builds up. Chelsea + City would both have bitten your arm off and been thankful for a European place, even Europa Cup spot before they started winning every week, within a couple of years it was a failure not to get out of the Group stages of the Champions league and finish in the top 3. Yes, they've done it with a big spend whilst we'd be doing it through skill alone, but the higher up we finish, the more we achieve, the more fans (even ours) will expect it every year.

Everyone appreciates it the first couple of times, then it almost is viewed as a 'right', and a failure if you can't replicate t.

The Spurs link is laughable. Not a chance would he go there, especially given the fact it would be considered a sideways step and he's mentioned how he likes full control (which he gets at our place). He wouldn't get that at Spurs.

As for Arsenal, far too soon...
