Cant see any media storm over this or 'Martinez on the brink' narrative.
That's for very good reason: the EL is seen as a joke by most and Everton will be judged in the media on PL results.
Most of those are throwaways, though. Nothing buys that might work out or mjight not.
When he's spent serious money, he's mostly got it right.
Kone - proven to be a horrendous signing
Alcaraz - proven to be a horrendous signing
Robles - not given a chance, unfairly treated after playing well
McCarthy - not as good/effective as some make out
McGeady - proven to be a horrendous signing
Stanek - no idea who he is
Byrne - no idea who he is
Barry - good on loan, awful once he got his contract
Besic - looks decent, fairly low risk signing, could turn out good
Lukaku - good signing, shouldn't lose any money if and when we sell
Galloway - good one for the future
Eto'o - proven to be a horrendous signing
All in all, woeful in the transfer market.
Bit harsh on McGeady and Kone. Although I'd agree kone's price and injury have made him a poor signing he has had few games, same with McGeady. With the right manager McGeady, Coleman, mirallas, lukaku etc could be quality again. Martinez doesn't have (and never will at Everton unless he stays for 10 years) players capable of playing just barcalona football.Kone - proven to be a horrendous signing

Do you want to be a two Bob club who change their manager every 5 minutes like West Brom? No we don't. We are that fickle and we aren't small.
The thing is, an Everton manager has to be resourceful. We dont have a lot of serious money so he needs to be picking up decent players on the cheap.
His transfers at Wigan is what was my biggest concern. Players like Boselli for £6m...
Christ, that'll go well for us.

They both play passing football; martinez' isn't as suited as Rodger's tactics to the league and shows more adaptability. They don't play even remotely the same way.
Rodgers plays a high pressing, direct pacy game that looks to play both on offense and defense in the other team's half.
Martinez doesn't press, and plays a patient build up possession game which results in playing the game in our half.
Pochitino plays a similar game to Rodgers however Rodgers style is far more aggressive as he essentially tries to bully teams.
Season by season he'll be judged: last season earned him a 5 year deal; this season will earn him a sit down with the board and a reassessment of where we're going.
The trouble is that people on forums dont do season to season, they do 90 minutes to 90 minutes...as the spectacularly divergent poll results on here for the Newcastle and last night's game underline very well.
