How can people come on here and say its not the managers fault he picks the team and organisers the tactics some of the stuff out there tonight was a disgrace.

Because they refuse to acknowledge that much of what happens on match day is actually the result of preparation that should happen before match day

Absolutely. He got it massively wrong.

But you still expect your players to be above how they played tonight.

2 or 3.1 loss you can take. But 5?

I don't care about people saying Martinez doesn't work on defence. The back 4 are INTERNATIONALS and have shown this season that they can defend. To suddenly lose the ability to defend and organise is solely down to the players.

I think when you have so many players not themselves and under performing it speaks volumes.

Now is roberto just unlucky that good players like Howard, Coleman, Baines, Distin, Barry, Barkley, Mirallas are out of form?

That a solid defence, which has been one of the best over the last 5 yrs has just forgotten how to defend?

Nah....It's down to management and coaching. He got lucky last season. Had Moyes remained in charge we would still of had a very good season last year. The long term affects of being under martinez's tutorlidge are showing now. I know it was always a little tongue in cheek joke but We DO look exactly the same as Wigan!

He has to go imo (with all his poor coaching staff) He may learn and get better over time but We're at a point where him staying could affect us badly in terms of personel coming and going. He will set us back 10yrs if he stays before there's any chance he will get better (if he ever does)

It's feeling all very Wigan at the moment. Which is a very bad thing. It's funny though because all of the things that we were moaning about not having two years ago with Moyes, well, we have that now and we're moaning about not having what Moyes gave us. Except winning stuff. We still don't have that.

I do think the place to look first and point fingers is the board and not the manager. That's not to say I think Roberto should stay. I just think it's a higher priority to get in an ownership that knows how to run a 21st century football club. Until we get rid of them we're always going to be severely limited in some way or another.

A good manager is one that gets the best out of what he has available to him. Yes Moyes did things that annoyed us at times but generally got the best out of what was available to him and probably not even Fergie or Jose would have got Everton any higher than between 5th to 7th, which apart from the one season that the Bobby lovers refer you, Moyes always delivered.
I cannot think of many managers who, with the current players available, would have us knocked out of both domestic cups at the first stage for the first time in our history and deliver crap numbing football week on week in the league. We were never going to go all the way in this Europa. I knew at the start of the season, and said to the other 3 season ticket holders who I go each week with, that once we get to knockout stages then as soon as we play a team with know how we will concede 4 or 5 in the away leg. It was a cert and what his teams do.
Get rid.........simple. And for those who say we are playing football and believe in him, let's sit down and talk about this season match by match. Utter dross. Last season was overrated and again I told the other 3 guys who I go with. Arsenal away last year is the one the Bobby lovers rave about and I agree they hardly got the ball off us in the first half. Watch it and ask yourself what did we create in that first half? Possession is nothing if you don't create anything. Distin to jags, jags to Barry, barry to Coleman, coleman back to Barry, get rid of the clown as he CANNOT get the best of what he has available to him.

He treats football intelligent evertonians like we are muppets with his pre rehearsed drool that he says after every match. I'm doing my "A" licence badge at the moment and you have a couple of classes on dealing with the media. The stuff he comes out with is just pre rehearsed and he sticks to the script. However you are only supposed to use this method for a certain period of time. You are advised to be honest now and again or you lose respect. Martinez should have listened in class. But what Martinez show me that hes don't have any plan B , playing same players in same formation until it works or don't. Martinez factor is why are we where we are and play so [Poor language removed] .Last night u going with counter and close all ways to our goal , yet he put slow Barry again and Naismith and Barkley ( who play good )and that we could use when they go on our two line defense with qiuck Barkley, but Naismith was sureplus . Barry would work only with one more DM, But last night diamond formation was answer in attack two lines in defense. Besic anchor, Gibson, McCarhy in front left right, and Barkley Lukaku in front of them, with that fullbacks could go in counter ,and u wait them. Yet we play like we always do. Why ?

I voted in. This season has been a complete disaster and is not acceptable but after last season Martinez still should have the chance to fix it next season imo.

If we aren't back on track after about the first 10 games of next season then he can do one but until then I'm keeping the faith even though he is absolutely doing my head in.

We know what he is capable of and we shouldn't through that away for some unknown quantity.
