Did people really see some change against Newcastle? The positive was no Barry (not out of choice though) and two strikers, but one goal was jammy and the other the penalty. The third came when the game was over, playing against ten men who have shown zero effort when playing as eleven. Was happy about the win, cos it was three really, really, really valuable points, that, boy, we are going to need. But little of it made me think Roberto had turned a corner. And just you watch, nothing will change from here until the end. I don't believe it's because of philosophy anymore. Worse. It's cos he really is inept. So inept he can't learn from his mistakes. And the worst thing a manager can be is inflexible.

That Goal article and the interview are so depressing. He's completely blind. Even Fergie wouldn't try to ignore/hide that shocking defending display.

Last season great, this season terrible.

Rough with the smooth.

Most of last season was great, the end not so much when we seemed to run out of steam and we don't seem to have recovered from then.

To me if this goes on until the end of the season then it will be over a season of the rough.

Two wonder goals and three defensive errors from a sub standard 4th choice centre back. Other than that we scored two and could've had four. We were in the driving seat twice in that game before Antolin decided to give the ukranians a helping hand. I have no doubt if Stones had started we'd be looking forward to the next round now, love to know why he didn't. the strategy was alright but Martinez made some bad decisions in team selection, and one of them cost us dearly. Stones, Gibson and Osman should've been in for Alcaraz, Barry and Naismith. No way he should be taking Atsu off for Kone with 30 mins still to play either. That said i still think we did enough to go though. The scoreline is a bit of a joke, 3-2 to them is more realistic and that would've seen us through. Wonder goals and defensive errors have made it look like we were outplayed, that wasn't the case at all. Looked very good going forward, Barkley was impressive (finally). I still support Martinez, if only for the lack of anyone worth replacing him. Billic is the only name I've heard that id take over him. We have three especial vital games remaining now; QPR, Burnley and Sunderland. At the moment i have faith in Martinez to turn things around next season, without a European distraction, which is what i think its been. That faith might not hold up if those three games don't go our way. QPR at the weekend is must win. Lose there and Roberto's in big trouble. However, we can still easily finish 11th which isn't terrible, and after our greatest ever points total last year, which everyone seems to be desperate to forgot about, i feel he still deserves athe start of next season to fix things, but not any more than that. Now lets get behind them for the rest of the season, make the best out of a [Poor language removed] situation. COYB.

....then thats what well have to take unfortunately.

We can't be swapping and changing managers because we have one good then bad season....certainly not 2 seasons into this ones tenure.

Bloody dreadful tonight but I am prepared to stick with him and give him to xmas next year. Assuming he picks up a couple of wins in the next few games. Lose the next two and I think thats it for him

Moyes- he's the one who a year earlier gave us our biggest European defeat with a 5-1 defeat against Dinamo Bucharest isn't he?
Yes, that's the one. He had a mixed time with us, but not everything he did was awful as you seem to think. We played some great football that season, at a time when English football was much stronger than it is now. Martinez has had 18 months with us now and we appear to be going nowhere. I've not asked for him to go, but if things don't improve soon I'll be in the "out" camp. The reaction on Sunday will be interesting - if there is any.

What was so great about last season? Finished 5th and got into Europes also ran competition? We didn't win a trophy and it's now 20 years and counting. If Everton keep Bobby in charge it's going to be a heck of a lot longer than 20 years! When are you going to wake up and smell the bacon??

Yeah, how silly of me. 72 points and 21 wins was rubbish.
