Not at all - he was amazing in that regard in fact. As I always said, he was an appalling team manager in my view, but he'd be one of the worlds' best DoF's. His eye for talent at reasonable prices is almost unsurpassed in world football.

Wouldnt disagree. Even though I would struggle to name all the managers in the PL, so my world knowledge is pretty rubbish. There are many sticks available to beat him with, buying and selling footballers is not one of them.

That's a real shame.

Richard Wright????
Is that John Heitinga, our player of the year, on a flop list????????
We didnt lose much on Bily or Koldrup and Beattie, nothing money.
Wright was hopeless!
Heitinga had about 12 decent games toward the end of one season and got Player of the Year on the strength of it
Bily was about £11M and Beattie £8M

Pfffft!!!!

We made the money back on Kroldrup and a fair chunk from Bily, got years out of Heitinga (including one player of the year season). Wright and Beattie were duds, and even with Beattie we only made a loss of £2m ultimately. Of that, around £12m or so lost; hardly £30m, even if you wanted to be silly and include wages.
He signed trash. Full stop.

As for Heitinga: he was a face-gurning flop apart from about a dozen games.

You've just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Moyes was A* with transfers Dave, and you know it.
He was very good at the £5M-£10M range, yeah. Below and above those values - not so.

That's fair comment.

The point being made was that even Moyes had his weak spot in the transfer market...and it's right too...and not just with those named players.

Of course. Like I said, no manager in the history of world football hasnt signed a dud, or lost money on a deal, except John Carver.

But anyrate, it is pretty old ground now.

Been pleased to see the team show a lot more these last few matches.
