The better players in England are elavated to near world class by the media irrespective of ability, it's an easier sale than admitting we haven't produced world class players since Mexico 1970 (Glenn Hoddle excluded).

Keegan, Robson, Gazza, Beckham, Owen, Lampard all acclaimed as such and simply were not.

At the same time Bergkamp, Zola, Gullitt, Zidane, Van Basten, Matheus, Weah, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo and Ronaldo C. and loads more have demonstrated the chasm that exists.

Fans are sick of the nonsense.
