It's a fair point. Let me be a little more clear about the question. FLHD said he wanted him sacked after Hull. Which means he's advocating a mid-season sacking. Which means we go with an in house appointment or someone who didn't have a job at that time. Surely that list can't be too long?

We just don't know who would be interested, it could be 1,000 long.

1000 long for a qualified improvement over Martinez in the middle of a season? Surely there is really only a handful.

I don't think it's too much to ask a poster who wants a midseason sack to produce a name or two who they would feel would be an improvement over the current manager. It certainly would allow for debate.

I don't want to stifle debate, I just think the options are wider than we would think.

And i bet anything that whichever names he comes up with, if not you then plenty of other people will find a multitude of reasons to write them all off.

It's always the same when the who would you replace him question comes up, when it shouldn't. Just because someone wants the current manager out cause they don't think he's good enough doesn't mean they then have to have studied the football world to find a suitable replacement.

There's only 1 person who needs to do that and thats the person responsible for hiring him.

If he did get the sack ( and that's a big IF during mid season though another couple of quickfire league defeats and the pressure e would be massive ) they would turn straight to Royle with possibly Ferguson, Unsworth and Sheedy as his staff.

For me it's lazy to not bring solutions to the table....but fair enough...especially your last point.

10 BOB?

He spent 28m on a striker, shall I list the number of Premiership teams that have 28m ENGLISH POUND strikers?

Rooney - Utd
Aguero - City
Costa - Chelsea
Lukaku - Everton

There might be a slight difference in those behind those strikers though.

We stockpiled 3 Windows to get lukaku in, remember.

I think its always a case of "I want the current boss out because i don't think he's good enough and i want the chairman to replace him with someone who is hopefully better".

And then even when they do name names there's always someone who will write them off for whatever reason : the good managers won't be available and the available managers are crap (or variations of) which is why people shouldn't have to name replacements just to want the current manager out.

Like if i said i wanted Martinez out and Allardyce in, imagine the kind of reaction it would get for reasons we can all guess, even though he's got a better win ratio in the Prem than Martinez.

Have to disagree a bit there Dave.

1) we are a victim of poor tactics, team selections this season.

2) This is what many of us have been saying he has no idea and seems incapable of resolving the bad performances.

So you don't believe that in playing well last year, in seeing what we do to teams that try to press us high up the pitch has rresulted in teams sitting deep and frustrating us? And that a lack of creativity is the reason we can't open up teams, especially at goodison??

you say change the tactics yet we don't have the personnel.

442? Every team in the league pretty much plays 451. Recipe for disaster.

2 wingers? far too open and predictable. It wouldn't help one iota in my opinion.

He needs time, the manager. Time to bring in suited players and develop those who have shown an aptitude for adapting to the style.

Right...but it would certainly be something we could all debate.

He has a job though.

you ask for a name, that's the name that will fit us perfectly. Everyone has a price. I believe EPL will be attractive for him, he stayed at Dortmund long enough for him to have some fresh challenge elsewhere.

If he stays in Germany, the next progressive step is to manage Bayern munich but I don't think he'll do that. Worth trying to get him.

I asked for a qualified improvement for Martinez for a midseason sacking. Klopp would not fit the that.
