We'll stay up but the annoying thing is that it is going to be very close to the end of the season before it can be mathematically confirmed.

Where did you grab that crystal ball lid?

You should refrain from projecting what you want to happen, instead of what may.

It's sound to be proven right but at Everton's expense? That's a bit weird. Hating on Everton is so 1990s anyway lar.
Not me Chico. I'll be there at both games giving my all for the cause. There's absolutely nothing I would want more at this time than for my worries to turn out to have been groundless. Anyone looking objectively at performances and results to date though would conclude otherwise.

Being honest, if I was Kenwright I'd have sacked him straight after Hull away.

In fairness he's now steadied the ship a bit since then and at this point in the season he's definitely safe from the chop.

My worry is that if he's allowed to buy and sell at will in the summer and we spend everything we've got, if we get to November / December and we're in the same state we were in this season, then he'll have to be shot, which would leave the new manager with a squad that isn't his and no funds to rectify it.

I'd be having sleepless nights if I was Kenwright now, as I genuiely don't know if I trust him with the summer budget.

And who would you have replaced him with?

This is the sort of thing that you do when you have the money to make changes at a whim. Everton need to have more patience. Obviously that's risky, because it may be throwing good money after bad, but replacing managers as soon as they begin to shake has never won anyone anything except the clubs that have so much money that a manager is nearly meaningless.

Sometimes there aren't any great choices. This is one of those times - do you trust Martinez to get it right more than you trust us to bring in another manager that can push us forward given the state of the squad? I still do because of Europa and last season, and a number of factors that can be made as excuses for this season. I also really truly believe that the best path for Everton is to trust that given enough time a manager can succeed.

I'm not 100% certain of course, this season is terrible, but I really don't understand the belief that some people have that acting like every other non-rich club will somehow make us successful, even though it has not worked for any of them. Ever.

You have to have belief mate, that's what it's all about, isn't it ?.

Sure. I guess I just believe that we have a greater chance of success by going the road less traveled.

There are plenty of clubs out there that change managers every two years and have nothing to show for it. There are less clubs that retain a managers services for a long haul. Obviously, that may just be because there are only a few good managers in the world, but I believe patience and laying a foundation is what will be more likely to produce results than just jumping into the same cycle as every other mid table club in England and hoping for a miracle.

Come on mate, not that question. Did you think of Martinez when we were wanting Moyes out?

Too many options to list for a replacement.

It's a fair point. Let me be a little more clear about the question. FLHD said he wanted him sacked after Hull. Which means he's advocating a mid-season sacking. Which means we go with an in house appointment or someone who didn't have a job at that time. Surely that list can't be too long?
