There's a sad air of desperation from the usual suspects today. The general understanding amongst Evertonians that the relegation spots are all but accounted for now after yesterday has cut the ground from under their agitation. They're rebels without a cause now. Now they're just restricted to calling the manager 'mad'. It's all gotten away from them a bit. Lost momentum...

...which is nice.

15 games.

1 win.

I think what it really is about is that posts like this are a response to not being able to counter very reasonable points about the comparison of this season and last season - basically because it's impossible to address the awful performances of this season AND claim he's the right man for the job.

Hence, the preferred way of dealing with it is to describe the purveyor of that point as a plotter.

Uh oh, i think Jags has just sliced his Titlist out deep into the rough there. I'm sure a few more practise sessions on a Tuesday afternoon with Big Unsy would improve his swing, rather than working on that pesky passing stuff Martinez insists on.

It's the same thinking he has last season. Was it delusional then when it was working ok?

Teams didn't expect it last year Dave, this year though they have sussed us out. What is delusional is the fact that we have tried it for 28 games and the results have been pretty much the same the entire season but Roberto feels the plan is good to continue with. If in my job i was getting adverse results over such a sustained period but continued to work the same way, im sure there would be plenty of people out for my head.

Just a reminder that Norwich had a 6 pt lead over the bottom 3 with only 6 games to go last season..........

38 games. 21 wins.
He was superb last season, as were we.

Doesn't change that we've been an utter embarrassment this season. What makes you think it's gonna get better next season? We won't get a penny in the summer as you know, and Mirallas is probably off.

I agree, I said so above. He;s cracked on regardless of the evidence it's not happening with the personnel he's got.

He's still a manager worth sticking with though, because he knows he has to get this right (players for his system).

I know 1/ he's capable of getting a tune like that first season out of Everton (we know nothing of the sort of a new manager) 2/ it cant possibly be repeated next season because if it was repeated it'd last about 12 weeks.

Keep the faith.

Come on Dave, since when has being a Evertonian been about how poor other teams are and themselves getting relegated, the fact that wee ARE even in the conversation is the problem, If one of the POLLS were titled 'Do you think we will go down' there would have been a landslide in favour of 'NO'.

All you are doing by having an un-waving support if Martinez is setting us up for more of the same next season, after all it will be the same managers with similar squads we are up against except Martinez will have bought in some more second rate players, Unless you defend his transfer policy as well????

Thank god, @davek has given us a timeframe of his support for the Catalan Fraud

Was half believing his interview before he said 'Howard has had a really strong season' then i remembered there is no long term plan he's just a delusionsl oaf trying to keep his job.

If the manager isn't going to back his players, who else will?

Delusional or not, I'm sure Howard knows he's having a mare. He doesn't need the manager sticking the boot in.

I don't agree with him playing, but I wouldn't be fussed about him saying that. The same when he says Stones is gonna be captain, and Barkley is a perfect number 10.
