I'm not one for booting mangers out the door as soon as things go wrong but from his interview in the Telegraph today it sounds as if nothing is going to change. So I expect us still to be defending like a pub team next season.

It would seem to be the decent thing to do to give him the first half of next season, but it may only just prolong the agony.

And making decisions in football is not about decency, it's about money and results.

Relax.

The heat has gone out of this situation now.

Relegation spots have been decided today almost certainly.

We now need about 6 points from 10 games to make sure.

Joe Royle and everyone else can stand down; they're not needed.

Maybe we can play easy peasy teams like the bottom side Leicester home and away. That's a guaranteed 6 points....

Doesn't know how, or is far too reluctant to swerve from his policy of adhering to a rigid, set approach - be that tactically or how he manages.

I mentioned in another post that it's my major fear about next season - if he hasn't adapted this season then why expect him to next season?

Rightly or wrongly, an Everton recently mentioned that his behaviour is swaying towards that of a 'psychopath'. It made me start to think...

His smooth veneer, smiles and blatant disregard for our situation (to accept he's wrong and needing to adapt) are marked characteristics.

I'm not saying that he is one, but his stubbornness and continued use of ambitious vocabulary is somewhat concerning.

Does he really understand the situation or is the possibility of Everton being relegated an acceptable risk to implement his strategies?

It eventually got Wigan relegated yet he still came here with smiles and graces... I hope it's not the same situation.

Yes he got to understand the club Everton future is more important the his philosophy.

Oh ffs. If anyone was in any doubt as to his mental state, then signing this donkey should surely give them all they need to see the light.

He's total gash

Cleverley has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. There's zero chance this signing will pay off, none at all.

I've been wrong on how good McCarthy has been in the past (thought he was OK, turned out to be very good) but even with that in mind and aware that I can (and often am) wrong on transfers, I'm 100% certain Cleverley is a terrible signing.

The fact that Villa fans don't even want him tells you all you need to know.

He's mince and just another step on the road to bottom half football under the Catalan beaut

Can't wait to see Tom cleverley boss the midfield next year.

It's gonna be ace. Let's recap on what bobby thinks:

"There are only a few players in this country who have had the sort of education where they look as if they could have been brought up in Holland, Spain or France, Tom is one of them.

"I think he is as good a talent as we have in the English game, and he is still growing"

He's a League 1/2 version of Arteta. If he hadn't had the "pedigree" of United on his CV, he'd be at Wrexham or something now.

He's not one of those quietly effective players like Barry either - he's just a total waste of space.
