Did he mention incoming players? Not by name obviously but did he say if there would be an[?QUOTE][/QUOTE]y?

I dont think anyone is going to come or go now, be a killer if after playing all the games we have with this squad we suddenly lose a key player now, Martinez has had all his pre season games now, no more chances to test to water with playing patterns that might be new to our players, next game is the real thing. If we lose a player now it will really mess things up for us.

Besides down the years other teams must of tried to buy Baines, and he is still around, no reason at all to think he might be tempted now and not even Kenwright can go so low as to ruin thing for Martinez at this late stage.... or can he ??

I think it's common knowledge that if the right offer for us comes in for both/either of Fellaini & Baines then they'll be gone!. But I do think Felli is the more likely to go tbh, as I cant see United bidding what we want for Baines?!.

Did Martinez get asked if he was still in the market for more players does anyone know?.

He swerved that question too. Said something along the lines of that we are always active during a transfer window looking to see if anyone is available but then immediately said the most important thing was that the squad all came back fit from internationals.

It was one of the most boring interviews i've seen, 100% predictable questions and answers. It seems clear we ain't signing anyone else sadly, a real let down.

So he didn't actually swerve it? He said we are after players but his immediate concern is players coming back fit?

Fair play to be for not making himself look a tit ala moyes with lescott.

Stop panicking ffs, we don't have the cash like spurs etc to enable us to pick our target and bid what it takes to get our man. Inevitably we have to wait till the window is closing to attempt getting players at OUR prices. Sometimes it will come off, sometimes not...

I expect at least 2 will come in.

So you call Brodgers a tit for coming out with statements totally in contrast to the reality on the ground, but you want Martinez to do the same?
Everyone everyone everyone knows that Everton don't want to sell Baines and Fellaini- But that's not to say they aren't for sale for a massive premium.
Bertie did good.

Exactly right. The lengths that some posters on here will go to to make everything at Everton seem bad is deplorable.Martinez straight batted all the questions, as you would expect a man with his knowledge and experience to do. The Man Utd. manager, meanwhile has publicly stated that he has no rift with Wayne Rooney..and if that isn't asking for trouble I don't know what is.

I really wish I could beleive this mate. I just don't know where the money would come from.

Truth is we only ever buy "big" (10 mil plus) when we´ve sold. I expect there to be another signing, but it will either be a loan or someone from the bargain bin.

RM is probably trying to decide on whether Ross has enough about him to be a regular at attacking centre mid this season.

Doubt he will be looking at attacking CM mate. There's Ross, ossie, Naismith, mirallas, Delefuoe all that can play there. Or a back 3 taking away the need for a No.10. A natural CM to rotate/backup for Fellaini and Gibson is what he will be/need to be bringing in.

Agree about the "big" signing tho, unless Fellaini goes will prob have to make do with a cheapy or loan. I do have a sneaky feeling he's gonna be going for Mcarthy tho at about 8M or so.

.

yeah mate. He just said the usual 'we are working to get players in like we do in every transfer window'

The thing is we do not want to lose Fellaini in fact we need another class midfielder to slot in along side him Osman - Pienaar all look to old and past their best to me -Those fans who say we will not miss him as an easy replacement can be found is absurd he plays in a top Belgium International side - he has premiership experience with a good goal tally - DM has left to pastures new, but he has left us with an aging side. I mentally went through the ages, 75% of the team is 29 going on 30 years old or late 20's and the like of Gibson is injury prone! RM has a long job in rebuilding this present team with limited resources I am afraid it will take time for him to impose his brand of football of pass and move style I just hope we have the added bonus of Baines , and Fellaini staying put for this season at least!

Pienaar has been one of our better players this pre season imho. But he´s not likely to set the premiership a light though, you´re right about that. The one that needs replacing above all others is Osman.
