I found I was squirming in my seat wishing it would end,His constant referals to Moyes was embarrasing it was like he was talking about hie ex boyfriend ,he dumped you Bill move on.

Also the talk about 90% of the fans saying we trust you Bill was word for word what he said last week ,if you can remember your lines like that Bill you should have been an actor.

The top hat on it was the talk of the champions league has made us a laughing stock it reminded me of Venkies at Blackburn.

I do wish him well though and hope he proves me wrong but I fear the Battle of the Bull****ters has just begun between Martinez and Rodgers.

No one can win can they? Moyes was ****ged off for not having enough ambition and know Martinez is being ****ged off because he said he AIMS to get us in the CL

I think both parties conducted themselves fine, I especially liked Kenwrights reasoning for appointing Bobby ahead of the other candidates.

The future seems bright now, come on you blues!

One thing is clear; if Martinez fails it won't be for the lack of trying. He is already keen to learn of the club history and what it means to the fans. I also like his comments he is going to make improvements rather than wholesale changes to our playing style in first season. It sounds like he has been promised money so lets hope the board follow through with that. I'm not sure why people have difficulties re champions league comment. He states it's a long term objective and so it should be. This is the next step for us. I'd be much more worried if he came in and said his aim was to simply consolidate where we are now with no sign of ambition. He has talked the talk, let's hope he can now produce results.

Think is, Kenwright will just pass him a chunk of the extra TV money and all the fans will think he's put his hand in his pocket.

That'll probably buy him another five years in the job.

I think Martinez might have a net spend this summer of between 5-10m, and if Fellaini leaves then less.

to get champs league, you only need to win the fa cup isn't it? or does that put you in europa?

I must have missed the part when Martinez told the whole world he'd get CL football for Everton. You cant tar him with the same brush you're rightfully tarring Kenwright with.

Warnock was quite right this morning on Talksport when he said BK shouldn't have mentioned CL. It's going to be rammed down our throats every time something goes wrong. There's nothing wrong with ambition but BK deffo slipped up there.

Other than that, I like Martinez and think that he's articulate and intelligent. Could be a big plus for the club.

Pity BK went overley on about Moyes, but all that aside, without sounding too much like Jerry Miguire...he had me at Champions league.

Seriously, what is he supposed to say? Well Moyes was a total genius and I will never be able to 'achieve' what he did...which was **** all really but he convinced us all it was still special.

Well im totally sick to the back teeth of all that small club, little old everton punching above their weight in the top 8 of the league bollocks, it gets me down and makes me sick. And that was Moyes mentality...it also rubbed off on Neville cos we heard him recently spouting ****e about top 8 being amazing for a club like Everton - when he said that i coudlnt wait for him to **** off back down the 62!

So we get a manager in who says, I want to give you CL football and hes getting slated for it FFS? Hes shown more ambition in a day that moyes showed in a decade. I dont even care if he delivers it or not, its the fact he beleives he can and he beleives he can take a good squad and improve it. That is exactly what i wanted to hear from him yesterday, not negative bollocks about no money to spend or losing players.

I dont care he took wigan down either, he basically had to rebuild his team every single summer, cos wigan are so ****, anyone decent left at the first chance they got. Moses, Nzogbia, Valencia etc etc. Thats why IMO he never done anything till it was too late cos he was constantly starting again and bringing a team together. Some of the most succesful current managers atm have also experieced relegation early in their career. Wenger took Nancy down in the mid 80's...Benitez took Extremundal (or something) down early in his...and I wouldnt mind Martinez haveing their honours list in 10 years time!

Dont like BK at all, but he was just excited yesterday and got carried away. But Martinez gets me excited too so i dont even blame him for that.

Who knows...maybe we wont have 11 men in our own 18 yard box when we defend a corner next season?

Moyes for all he done was 'lets not get beat'

Martinez wants to win and i love him for that already

What do you mean by 'put his hand in his pocket? Do you expect the chairman to provide money to the manager despite the fact that the chairman does not have any money? The money that is/will be available for transfers is that money generated by the club , plus money recieved from the TV deals. Chairmen, and in fact board members, only loan money to 'their' football club if they are mega rich, which Bill K isn't. Chairmen like Coates(?) at Stoke and one or two others have a lot more money than Bill...and they expect a return on the loans in any case. It has always amazed me, the number of football supporters on forums who think that just because a man is chairman of a football club, he should bankrupt himself by giving the club his money. Tell you what...if you think youre a better supporter than BK(and I'm sure youre a great supporter...malice not intended) why don't you pop down to your bank or building society and withdraw or borrow a million or so for Everton? Not that easy is it ?All these flashy investors, like the guy at Aston Villa and others, have their moment of glory when they come in to a club, and make a show of their investment, but they very soon realise that unless they are mega rich, they are in a no win situation. We already have loans, and are paying them back in line with the banks proposals, borrowing more, whether from a director or an outside source, would not be in the interests of the club at present.
