What do you mean by 'put his hand in his pocket? Do you expect the chairman to provide money to the manager despite the fact that the chairman does not have any money? The money that is/will be available for transfers is that money generated by the club , plus money recieved from the TV deals. Chairmen, and in fact board members, only loan money to 'their' football club if they are mega rich, which Bill K isn't. Chairmen like Coates(?) at Stoke and one or two others have a lot more money than Bill...and they expect a return on the loans in any case. It has always amazed me, the number of football supporters on forums who think that just because a man is chairman of a football club, he should bankrupt himself by giving the club his money. Tell you what...if you think youre a better supporter than BK(and I'm sure youre a great supporter...malice not intended) why don't you pop down to your bank or building society and withdraw or borrow a million or so for Everton? Not that easy is it ?All these flashy investors, like the guy at Aston Villa and others, have their moment of glory when they come in to a club, and make a show of their investment, but they very soon realise that unless they are mega rich, they are in a no win situation. We already have loans, and are paying them back in line with the banks proposals, borrowing more, whether from a director or an outside source, would not be in the interests of the club at present.

Our gentle readers may be interested to know that someone gave me a neg for the above posted opinion. I'm just curious to know how an opinion as above, not abusive, personal, or inciting, gets a neg. Anyone any ideas?

I think it was given for having no paragraph break!

A neg rep is just a way of disagreeing with a post. Stop moaning.

No its not. The way to disagree with a post is to post a response. If what you say is true, theres no point in having a forum, is there? And by the way, I'm not moaning...I'm asking for a serious reason as to why anyone would give my original post a neg. Maybe a mod could explain the guidelines? If I just gave negs to people I disagreed with, I'd spend most of my waking hours negging away !!

Yes it is. The rep system is designed to stop the forum being clogged up with posts of 'I agree' or 'I disagree'.

You don't need an explanation every time somebody disagrees with your post, that's the point.
