just watched it and to be honest I think it was just really clumsy, but still that is bad enough. was claiming that he was saying to Moyes that no-one was for sale, then mumbles obviously that there is a release clause with someone. maybe just didn't want to look stupid if someone does come in for Fellaini and he hands in transfer request. he does emphasise then that they want to keep everyone and everyone wants to stay. hope Martinez is on the phone to Fellaini straight away to explain he wants him as key player

Yeah, it was clumsy. But to be honest, I think every club will know about every players contracts. It's their job to when looking at transfers. So he's not dropped bombs or secrecy or anything.

He covered his arse by saying non of the players have come to see him about leaving. So until clubs come in, no one's going yet or forcing a move... Minus probably Heitinga

There's new independent interviews now on everton tv the one with kenwright he states "we have good contracts on all our players with the exception of one he can go" he also states he's still moyesies mate and that he's told him "don't you dare get on the phone for Leighton Baines"

interesting how he doesnt mention felli there add to that the release clause sounds like they are preparing for him to be off tbh just gutted the clause is £23-24 mil disgraceful that with liege having a sell on fee should of been set at atleast £27 mil

Does anybody seriously believe that managers all over Europe found out at the press conference that Fellaini has a release clause.
Would you not think that his agents not to mention his father have been trying to sell him away from Everton.

The Fellaini release clause was reported in all the national newspapers 6 months ago and was not denied at the time by Everton. Everyone already knew about it.

The thing that annoyed me about the press conference was the constant mentioning of Moyes. He's gone, stop talkin about him please :) Time to move on...

This...

It almost looked as if Billy boy was trying to say that Roberto will never live up to Moyes, I'm not a massive advocate of Martinez but the Moyes era's dead and buried so he needs everyone behind him especially the chairman and the board, He's embarrassing

1) Kenwright makes point of his assets at the club and keeps mentioning David and he knew what it was like when he was here, then mentions theres a couple of players with release clauses... Is this DM contacting Kenwright about our players ( Fellaini and Mirallas - i can see Mirallas having a release clause not Baines)?

if he has mentioned release clauses what is the logic? if you want money in for players then you surely got to make sure there is going to be serious bidding before you put them in the shop window like that. don't see the Manager/chairman relationship being too cosy interesting times ahead

Pretty sure he said 1 player has an "escape" clause....clearly that's Fellaini. And "Escape" being the important word for me. Fellaini himself said there was No min fee realease clause in his contract. Reading between the lines I'm thinking he probably has a clause to be allowed to "Escape" if a certain type of club come in for him AND the two clubs can agree a fee. I don't think it's a clause with a set fee attached.

good point, I suppose I just wanted to hear something positive about Fellaini seeing how the player himself has said he is happy. I thought Martinez came across very well and sounded like he would give every player a chance to show how important he is, Kenwright was just overselling him, a habit from Whelan that made me wary of Martinez for a long time. I am clutching at the idea that the player mentioned as leaving is Heitinga
