I see more Liverpool fans saying its good were both pushing towards the top 4 but I know they wouldn't be saying that if they weren't ahead of us. I think its going to be very interesting if we win both our next games and arsenal falters abit how people react to it.

If LFC falter and we don't, it will be interesting to see if their faintly patronising 'good for the City' stuff continues. They generally only say that when they are ahead of us.

Thought I couldnt remember when I had last heard them saying it.

What has Everton done wrong for the media to dislike us? I see far more negative comments about us then positive and half the positive ones are back handed compliments. Like Everton are doing very well without David Moyes or something along those lines when its just a clear dig at him and nothing really bout us

There's the rub.

You have to remember the myth of Moyes was largely built on the nonsense spouted by Samuel and his ilk.

They banged on for years about how good a manager he was, how Everton were holding hom back and about how he would thrive with a "big" club.

They expected an almost seamless ascension to the OT throne and that EFC would stuggle without their great white hope in charge.

What has happened in the past nine months has made them look like the reactionary, uninformed, gin soaked stereotype of most sports journos.

But they can't be made to look like they were in the wrong.

Oh no.

They have to search for reasons why Wee Davey is such a flop at OT so far.

And why Everton are a club re-born in his absence.

So it becomes Fergie's fault for leaving behind a poor squad at OT.

And Everton have only thrived because of a Machiavellian ability to manipulate the loan system.

It is just feckin' pathetic.

Of course they're miffed about Everton. These are the very pundits who, at the beginning of the season, had predicted a bottom half finish and that Moyes was bigger than the club. Everton are threatening the cosy top-4 and it truly irritates them. Good.

God knows why its such a big deal in England. Pretty sure no-one is arsed about loaning in other countries. Once again, I'm not saying its the reason why England are terrible but its defo some part of it. We send ours to league two so they can have fights. Send them to other countries ffs

Finish 8th and keep our mouths shut, apart from being gracious when people say it's a tremendous achievement for us to have done that.

You've got it. Stay plucky, we're in the good graces. Ruin the "excitement" of having the same 4 over and over again at the top, and they hate us.

Said it before like but just please get 4th Everton and win 3-2 at Hull away to clinch it by 1 point. please!!

all our loans on the scoresheet.

I read Mediawatch everyday on my lunchbreak.

I emailed theeditor this morning asking them to do a write up on loans, and they replied with
"See today's mediawatch fella! We've got your back..." Good guys working there. Based in Leeds I think, so don't have any of the cockney bellwhiff hacks.

Thats great that!

Arsenal fans celebrating whilst Everton are 4mins into stoppage time at 2-2. Steps up Gareth Barry, scores an offside goal to send Everton into the CL. Arsenal fans cry, the media cry, Everton are buzzing.
