Martinez sides at Wigan gave up a TON of goals. 60-70 goals a year and clearly regressed from how they were under Bruce before him. While we should be concerned about the number of goals conceded during his time at both Hull and Watford, his style is considerably more defensive minded. That he's some attacking, pressing manager is not really the case. That being said, no one can take our defensive personnel and stop anyone. That won't change before January.

Agree. Hull had a couple lopsided results as well and their personnel were less than stellar. Silva seems to play a lot on the counter, too. Martinez wanted us to be friggi n Barcelona.

Pursuing Silva to be our new manager mate, if we'd have had a formal approach for Simeone or any other big name( or unwanted name) this thread would have went mental yesterday, instead there was abar 15 pages on it.

it doesn't matter what Watford say or do now, they will HAVE to accept the compensation package, or risk Silva quitting and paying up his own contract which will be significantly less than any compensation package.

having dismissed the mooted 8.5m , they will be sure to accept around 10m.

as ever this process will drag on and on and we will get Silva on January 30th

We're has he? Because the media said? Mate you can't believe everything in the papers as they change there story to suit them. In hyperthetically speaking he should want to come to us over Watford as the prospects are far bigger. But you never know he could say no....
