I definitely can't expect you to take them to be direct equivalence, you're right there, but we are in absolutely no position to go out and get a manager who has achieved similar things that he has achieved abroad but in the top flight of English football. The days of Kev the Rat are long gone and we no longer have that pulling power, we haven't lifted a trophy in my life time mate. That's the model we have to go off in terms of our recruitment now; talented young managers abroad who might be able to kick on to the next level.
Having said that though, this is entirely without recognising that he had a horrendous Hull side (who were near the bottom of the Championship during all of last season I might add) struggling until the last day of the season and a very average Watford side doing quite well. These are both teams in 'the best or second best league in the world' and they certainly don't have any world class players
If you're going to criticise Silva, you want to be worried about the fact that his head seems to be turned alarmingly easy; definitely not an idea that the way he plays requires world class players, a claim for which there is almost no evidence whatsoever
