i can mate because anything less than world class to play that style will get found out in what is probably the best or second best league in the world.

you cant expect me to take results in portugal and greece as equivalencies.

I definitely can't expect you to take them to be direct equivalence, you're right there, but we are in absolutely no position to go out and get a manager who has achieved similar things that he has achieved abroad but in the top flight of English football. The days of Kev the Rat are long gone and we no longer have that pulling power, we haven't lifted a trophy in my life time mate. That's the model we have to go off in terms of our recruitment now; talented young managers abroad who might be able to kick on to the next level.

Having said that though, this is entirely without recognising that he had a horrendous Hull side (who were near the bottom of the Championship during all of last season I might add) struggling until the last day of the season and a very average Watford side doing quite well. These are both teams in 'the best or second best league in the world' and they certainly don't have any world class players

If you're going to criticise Silva, you want to be worried about the fact that his head seems to be turned alarmingly easy; definitely not an idea that the way he plays requires world class players, a claim for which there is almost no evidence whatsoever

hes won no pre season games, if he then goes on to win none of his first 5 we are bang in the relegation zone. If you saw how the fanbase quickly turned on Martinez and Koeman after decent starts, imagine how long this fella will get before the knives are out

Martinez served up nearly 2 seasons of tripe before he got shot.

Koeman gave up and it showed

We’ve not even kicked a competitive ball under Silva and you’re actively promoting his demise. It’s embarrassing

It's a shocking position to be in when you consider the cash spent: circa £55M spent on CBs alone in the last few seasons. Mind you, it pales into insignificance when you consider the fortune wasted on wingers.
How are you getting to £55m, out of interest?

ok mate lets see what the fans say if we dont win any of our first five. Moshiri has never been shy to pull the trigger.

I thought we played some quality football in that first half. Excited for the season now despite the loss and the poor pre-season.

Two good signings and I think we’ll have a decent season. 7th, Europa qualification and a cup run and I’d be delighted as long as we play good football.
