What players would you look at mate?

Notice it's all crap teams that out physical us. If we're gonna build a team to be physical to beat those teams, no thanks.

This loss is not the game to determine we need to out physical teams. It's more a mental thing in my opinion.

I can’t see us going for him, with the money watford would want, and us needing to pay £30mill for Gomes,

Maybe not, I would have thought the same last week, but I saw Silva’s comments last week with exceptions to the age rule for specialist roles.

It’s hard to know, I think it would depend on the context of the deal, who we could shift etc. Whether we view the deal as an investment etc.

If not him we definitely need a player in that mould our central midfield is powder puff and limited physically, Idrissa and Gomes have admirable attributes sadly, the lack in the areas I mention.

Big powerful no 8.

I’d disagree with you here, not wholly on the mentality thing, but in a squad of 25 and in our case more, it’s very possible to have one or two squad members with the attributes I describe. All the CL teams in the PL have big powerful central midfielders in their squads to with stand a physical battle.

It’s not one thing or another it’s having multiple dimensions in the context of one squad, it’s not all or nothing.

I agree, fair point.

Being physical is a leveller against more technically gifted players. I am not sure we should benefit from it when we are the underdogs and then complain about it when we are the favourites.

If we had 11 Marco Silva's on the pitch I reckon we'd have a good shot at winning the title.

Half arsed performance from the team today, we have no problem in applying ourselves against "Top" teams, today we thought we'd only have to turn up to get a win against a relegated team.

It's his job to bloody manage , coach and motivate them !
If he can't do that.
What's the option ?

I like Marco but today was possibly a sign of his inexperience as a manager. back in the moyes days he gets a result in this game, however i feel the team approached this game with not enough respect for fulham or desire and that was what cost us.
They almost thought they could just turn up and get the win but Fulham still have good attacking players and they hurt us today. It's a learning curve for Silva and maybe next season we could have a similar fixture and he will know what to expect

Unless we have the revenues to compete with the top 6 then avoiding relegation and failing to do anything is likely to be our future unless the stars align for us. To be honest I would love anyone to come up with a proper argument against backing Brands and Silva. Seems a lot better than the knee jerk reactions that resulted in Unsy or Allardyce.

We have a manager who has a clear style and a proven DoF. I know it hurts at the moment but I can't think of a better way at the moment.
I suppose you're right, that bench was woeful, can't hope for too much with some of these player's.

Personally I think you are barking up the wrong tree. We started today with Gomes and Gueye in central midfield are you really saying they are not physicaly strong enough.
