We have 4 pretty big games to come, now granted the season is over and they mean nothing in the grand scheme, but lets say he wins all 4!!! He wont of course, but if he wins 1 or 2, it would maybe give us something at least.

Or course no matter what he does from this point on some people only have "MILLWALL, WATFORD, HULL" in their heads so hes never gonna get some people back, but then I just think, what do we actually have to lose by giving him the first few months of next season? Its not like we have some sort of progress to keep hold off, we have done utterly zip for the last 30 years, what does another season matter? Yano.

thats another important point.

if we know we aint getting relegated. and we know we aint getting top 4....then really what major damage can the guy do if its the DOF buying the players? a few months in....no improvement or even signs of it, then Brands gets his next guy in.

(...we are all placing a lot of blind faith in Brands in all of this....)

I would be interested to know who was behind the push to buy Mina. It took a lot of time and money to get him here, and yet the manager has never seemed to be in any great rush to integrate him into the team.

I don't think he's been on the pitch enough to make a firm judgement on his ability, but for me, that's the deal which could have been put to one side in order to strengthen elsewhere.

But when Mina was signed we didnt have Zooms.

Sadly the fact we are essentially playing for nothing makes me feel it even more unlikely we will turn up for any of the remaining games.

I dunno. Just bored of being massively uninspired by our manager.

To begin with, I assumed that Zouma was just cover, but even after months and months of terrible results, Silva has stuck with a loan signing and a slug at centre-back. It seems odd that he hasn't been making any effort to accommodate a player who, at that price, should really be seen as the long-term answer.

I think barca have had our pants down

and if we end up over paying (anywhere over 25m) for gomes then we wont even have learned from the experience

Hes been constantly injured mate.

He arrived injured and hes picked up 2 injuries in his time here, coupled with him trying to adjust to the league, a half fit player learning the league isnt the best player to be throwing in.

Looking a bit of a turkey so far, but very early days yet.

Happy to acknowledge his injuries, but there have also been plenty of periods where he's been making token cameos off the bench every week.

It was only when we were told that there couldn't possibly be any money spent in January that I began to wonder what the score was with this deal. It just seems strange that a club in such a precarious financial position would go to these lengths to buy a player that the manager doesn't seem remotely arsed about.

Fair points.

So? Where are they in the table?

What about Newcastle, Watford, West Ham, Wolves and Leicester at home. What is your excuse?

You’re saying that because we haven’t beat some teams below us in the league that it’s impossible to think we could beat teams above us. It doesn’t work like that.

So you think Everton are going to beat any of Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal and Spurs away from home yes or no? Don’t deflect the question.
