Needs another 2 transfer windows an the same amount of time to cement a solid account of his true vision. End of story!

December has been a reality check. We were 6th due to Man United's turmoil with Mourinho, so 7th would have been a more realistic position for our team's ability going in to this month. We've then faced Liverpool away, City away and Spurs at home, with a tricky Watford side also causing us problems.

Truth is, for the time being, there isn't much separating the likes of us, Watford, Bournemouth, Wolves - we've drawn 2-2 with all 3, but we're way behind the "big 6". Over the next month or two, we should see us getting some better results and still be in the hunt for 7th. Some may write us off, but can anyone honestly say that the other sides around us are convincing because I don't see it.

In with a chance of 7th means he is doing an adequate job and a top half finish will give him a second season here. A couple more transfer windows and I expect him and Brands to improve us further and then close the gap on the top 6, with progress hopefully made with moving to BMD. It's frustrating how slow the process is taking, or is going to take but that is the reality of the situation.

Bit too early for people to be talking of giving him the bullet. As has already been said he'll need a couple of transfer windows to knock this squad into shape but there also needs to be a change in mentality. From possibly getting a 2nd goal - the team simply crumbled instead. Yes, they're a very good team and there was more than the average number of defensive mistakes in one game but you have to fight to stay in the game and keep organised enough to give yourselves a fighting chance.

Not really fair to play hangman when so few of the squad are his players, I actually expected mid table this season whilst he and the team settled in, will be expecting a sustained top six challenge next season though and we'll take it from there.

Was going well until 90 +6 the other week. Needs more time and more transfer windows. Squad is still desperately weak in areas.
I disagree, it’s the response to losses like that which show how good a coach is imo. It’s all good when confidence is high, but top managers make sure their team bounces back from setbacks and motivates them, not completely let them capitulate

The real culprit here is Pickford.

Without his nonsense in recent weeks this Poll would not even be taking place.
I disagree.
Pickford has cost us but its down to the manager to pick the team up and get a response. First after the derby but we were held by Newcastle and looked out of ideas. Its gone a bit flat lately and Pickford does have a lot of blame but not all of it.
There's been good progress in what's being attempted but its been the most testing period yet for Silva and he's not done too well. Tomorrow is another chance to get a response and a result and he needs to get one now.

Do not care who the manager is. Our squad was woeful and it takes time to replace Koeman's frauds.
The first wave of Silva signings is to try and stay ahead of the chasing pack.
Only then can we try and close down the better teams.
So we are still a lot of changes away from where we aspire to be.....

Silva isn't afraid to make changes, and I think he was keen to have a go at Spurs, but they are a very good side. The game reminded me of the Martinez game against Chelsea with Costa a few years ago, when we shipped six goals and sometimes Silvas whole approach is more than a little Martinez. But not all the time. I think he is anxious to play the three centre backs, but cannot get them in the starters without weakening the team elsewhere. Mind you if Coleman continues his lack of form, I can see one of the centre backs(Zouma?) at right back. The fact is that Brands signings are all superior technical players and hopefully in the medium turn, they will gel and improve with a couple more signings. Problem is, that I don't know of supporters of any club who are prepared to give a manager time for a medium/long term project, and that's exactly what Everton is. I was pleased to see Theo have a decent(in the circumstances) game and get a goal. He has been playing with a niggling ankle injury for a while and its to his credit he has battled on.I hope Gomes is not going to go off the boil and become injury prone. Bernards touches do not always come off, but his work rate, going forward and defensively, puts many professional footballers of greater physique to shame, not only some Everton players.

The Spurs game under Silva and the Chelsea game under Martinez were similar in that we were prepared to take the opposition on in both games.

Against Chelsea, we were two down after three minutes following individual mistakes - the chance of a win had gone. But we attacked Chelsea relentlessly in an attempt to pull a goal back, which inevitably left gaping holes in our defence. We pretty well matched Chelsea for the rest of the game, which I think reflected very well on Martinez and the team. Chelsea went on to win the Premier League by eight points.

The Spurs game was very different. We were a goal up when the individual mistake let us down. After that, we never recovered our poise, and looked a beaten team. Silva faces a big job in rebuilding the team spirit for the game against Burnley. It will be a difficult afternoon, especially if Gana and Lopes are absent.

We’ve got players on loan that top clubs don’t even want and we’re fawning over them as amazing players. It just shows the quality gap that exists. We need to get to the point where Gomes doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb because he’s the only midfielder we have who can play football, and where we don’t wish that Richarlison could play every position across the front line because the other options aren’t up to scratch. Only then will we have even a fighting chance to get over the curse of bad luck that is perennially on us. Whilst we still have the likes of Schneiderlin and Niasse making squads we won’t be achieveing anything.

You can still be amazing for Everton and not quite good enough for Barcelona.

Silva does have the right intentions and enthusiasm which puts him above Koeman and Allardyce.

He has at least tried to date to send us out to win games.

Both that, and he circumstances in which the club were in when he arrived, buy him time.

I think Moshiri will be as resolute as anything in sticking by him. He has to be for his own sake.

My issue at the moment is that we are still confined to winning games within a very limited category, and he has to break us out of that this season.

For that reason, Sunday was particularly deflating, at home as well. The sort of result that emphatically reminds us of the gap that exists and the task ahead.

It would help massively if we got a half decent striker next month.

And I agree with the view that the Pickford incident at the pit has had massive ripple effects. Both for us and them. And the bugger carries on like nothing happened.
