Was out of his depth and looked a surly bugger at times on the side lines but hard to feel anything about his reign. Will be one that's forgotten in the future.

He wants to press, he had a squad that couldn't do that and he tried anyway. It failed bad. That's both on him and on the club for not being able to match up the players with the coach. And yes the Gbamin thing is rotten luck.

At Hull and Watford, his thing seemed to be going gung-ho for 20 minutes against a decent side, before the inevitable moment where the commentators said, 'We asked if they would end up ruing those missed chances, and now we have our answer,' but his time here wasn't even as exciting as that.

An absolute Palermo manager.

That was hilarious that the Watford fans were so indignant about us trying to pilfer their manager. They go through managers like spinal tap goes through drummers, he was going to get the heave ho even if we didn't flirt with him.

The man had literally no idea how to set up a defence an set peices and refused to try anything different. Every team he managed in the prem conceeed the most goals from set peices in the league . He was not good enough in any way shape or form.

Brands really made a mess of the second summer window for him.

Iwobi tosh. Kean tosh. Delph tosh.

No central defender to replace Zouma.

Then add in poor luck with Gomes and Gbamin's injuries and it is no wonder Silva got sacked.

His zonal marking was crap too and he isn't blameless himself.

No affection for the sulking fool, stood on the sideline with a face like a smacked bum

Lost as many as he won for us

Managed Hull for half a season and got relegated (even though after his first game they were level with 17th) and managed Watford for 8 mediocre months after that. How he was given the Everton job I still can't grasp.

Even if people excuse his later Watford form as his head being turned, surely that showed him to be horribly unprofessional if not then he's just a poor manager.

Points per game
Hull 1.23
Watford 1.12
Everton 1.38 (below both Allardyce and Koeman)

I don’t hate him or even dislike him, his comments are pretty magnanimous too. He was just boring as both a personality and a manager and was never an Eite level manager for an English team.

The most forgettable manager in our history.

With hindsight that was a horrendous summer transfer window
Delph
Gbamin
Kean
Iwobi
Gomes on a perm
And the sockless wonder on loan

Weirdly at the time I remember thinking we'd done alright in that transfer window, with the exception of paying about ten million more than we should have for Iwobi and not getting another CB in to replace Zouma.

As it turns out, we paid about thirty million more than we should have for Iwobi.
