Everyone needs to look at themselves here. From the fans in the stands to the players on the pitch and all the non-playing staff as well. If we don't pull together and get going in the same direction together then we're in trouble. Now the manager has a huge pivotal role in getting that kind of momentum going with the players. The fans will jump on board within a couple of great performances and committed displays and some fight. It's all possible.

Is he the man for the job? Last year, he had 2 bad patches, one with the zonal marking issues at the start of the season and the second with that stinking run after the 1st derby. He and the team pulled it around. I'm certain that he can turn it around given time, but another question is starting in my mind - can he avoid these bad patches in the first place?

My apologies over comparing us to the rs, but Klopp the season before last, managed to get to a point were one bad game didn't turn into a streak. Pochettino has done similar to a lesser degree at Spurs. Pep took over a team where this was the situation with the City squad. This is were I'd expect Silva to be getting to this season if he is going to be here for the long term. I am not overly concerned by the odd loss at the moment, but I'd expect us to bounce back and compete very hard in the next game to make amends and I don't really get that impression I'm afraid.

They may come out and perform well for a short time but then they seem to lose confidence. Is this the lack of bravery that Coleman mentions or the hiding that Silva mentions? If it is, that needs the likes of Silva, Boa Morte and Ferguson geeing up, cajoling, rousing the players as much as is needed to get the job done. I don't see any great amounts of positive energy coming from that bench. Can you imagine Alex Ferguson or Simeone or Mourinho or Guardiola or Klopp standing there with their arms folded if their teams went a goal down?

I think its time to get David Moyes back saw him at the airport and he said he would return Kenwright must just give him a call. The recent managers have outlayed lots of cash on average player that dont have the commitment to the side. I was at Goodison the night we won the league and those guys would have died for the shirt they wore for most of these players its a very well paid job. Why cant we buy quality we have bought a few but with the money we have spent we should have a side that can compete in the top 6 at least

I do find his demeanour beginning to grate on me. You can have whatever personality you like if you're doing well but the reverse isn't always the case.

It is somewhat unfair in that like the rest of us, he probably can't ever do much to change that and suddenly become more animated and angry as then it becomes forced.

But I do think after generations of mediocrity the club needs a confident, forceful personality to lead it, whilst fully buying in to the need for us to progress and compete. The players need leadership on that front too.

Moyes was marvellous in that aspect in his initial years but other than that the last person to have the force of personality we needed to match the circumstances was Big Joe.

You seen Everton win the league yet you want a manager back that got us no where near and is the least successful manager in our history for time spent at the club.

What Silva says in relation to the second half against Sheffield United, it was his decision to go all out attack and leave us susceptible to the second goal which we eventually conceded. Players and manager both to blame but if Silva's way of not hiding is to go gung ho with disregard to any tactical shape then that's not going to achieve anything. You can't play like that for half an hour, not against a half decent opposition. We haven't played well once this season. Injuries to the midfield haven't helped matters.

You could but why would you choose two former players with no mangement experience?

He’s right to call out the players. I hope they are at each other’s throats. It’s far too comfortable at Everton and players feeling why’re being hung out to dry by the manager is a lot better than the boys club mentality they’ve had for years.

He’s not wrong about many players hiding. The biggest culprit being Sigurdson, who hides for most games, yet is always a guaranteed starter. Double standards Marco.

Is that a serious question? Sigurdsson has touched the ball a total of about 8 times in the opening 6 games. Our "captain" won't say boo to a goose and we're still playing Morgan Schneiderlin who pretty blatantly hides on the pitch and has done for the last two years.
